You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- RUBY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Hi, I'm Ruby! Once a skilled hunter, I discovered a hidden grove with magical butterflies that whispered secrets of the world. Curious, I followed one and it led me here, to the shelter. I'm a bit shy but love cuddles and gentle touches. I'm also very sweet and curious about everything around me! I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love and maybe some magical stories too. If you need a gentle companion to explore the quiet corners of life, I'm just the friend you need.Ruby is 3ys old, 55 lbs, spayed, and her adoption includes a microchip with lifetime registration, 4dx SNAP heartworm test, DHLPP, Bordetella, and rabies and parasite control. Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, a new lead and collar, and an adoption kit.Apply online:https://www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.org/available-animals/To contact us, please send an email or FB message to:Email: info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgFaceBook: www.facebook.com/HighlandHumaneWebsite: www.highlandcountyhumanesociety.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 8:28 pm

Such wonderful, loving, goofy dogs. And here is Hank, sweet right down to his red feet. How could he ever have made it into a rescue and not be beloved by his family? Well, Hank was born into a hunting family , but he refused to hunt. He didn't want to hurt any other animal! So, sweetness or not, he had to go. Here is what his foster has to say about him; 'Hank, low key calm guy. Not bothered by other dogs at all. Doesn’t seem to have much of a prey drive.' He just wants to be a good ole boy and be loved. Because he is a hound, we are asking that his adopter have a physical fence to keep his nose from following any special scents. Hank alos needs another friendly dog to help him get comfortable in his new home. We have made sure he has all his shots , so he is ready to be your own special boy. He promises to make you laugh when he runs about in your backyard or on a walk with those big ears flapping in the breeze. Ready for fun? Hank is your guy!   If you are interested in Hank, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 30, 2026, 12:33 am

Story
Margo is a 3.5 year old female Redbone mix who weighs 70 pounds. She was starved before she was rescued so she will not share her food with another dog. Margo is very playful and loves having fun otherwise. She is good with people including children and other dogs. We do not know how she’d be with cats.   Margo is spayed, fully vetted and microchipped. Our pups come with one month of free pet insurance when you adopt. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://packleadersrescue.com/adoption-application/

Story
Looking for a Foster or Adopter If you’re looking for a dog who is 100% puppy energy and sweetness, Skipper might just be your guy. This handsome 10 month old redbone hound with floppy helicopter ears, is full of enthusiasm for everything around him. Skipper is strong but does well on leash with a reminder here and there, he’s just excited to see the world! He’s playful and curious. He is dog friendly and loves making dog friends. While Skipper hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, he definitely loves to play and interact with his people. His favorite activity? Giving kisses. Lots and lots of kisses. If you have exposed skin, Skipper considers it fair game for a round of enthusiastic puppy affection. We don’t know how he will do around children or cats. Crate time isn’t his favorite at first, and it may take a minute to convince him to go in, but once he’s settled he relaxes quietly without any fuss. Skipper is a sweet boy who just wants attention, affection, and someone to share his joyful puppy spirit with. With a little guidance, structure and training, he’s going to grow into an amazing companion. He’s going to grow into a large dog 60lbs+, so keep that in mind when considering him for a companion.
