About 12 months old, Maya is a devoted young mama who raised three puppies and is now ready to be someone’s beloved companion. She’s gentle and a little thoughtful at first, but once she warms up, Maya is deeply loving, loyal, and emotionally tuned in. She earned the nickname “Velcro” because she truly wants to be near her people. Her signature move? #A5751957 Palmer is a 2-year-old male Rhodesian Ridgeback mix (possibly hound mix) with a handsome brown and black coat and a tall, athletic build. Found as a stray on January 25, 2026, alongside Mort A5751958 , Palmer weighs 84 lbs but is currently very thin for his breed and will need some healthy weight gain to feel his best. Palmer is shy in his kennel but appears to be a very sweet, gentle boy once given a little reassurance. The shelter environment is overwhelming for him, and he’s still finding his footing. He’s currently receiving medical treatment and will be adopted on a health waiver so his new family can continue his care. With patience, good nutrition, and a calm, loving home, Palmer has all the potential to grow into a confident and devoted companion. -2 years old, male, 84 lbs (underweight for breed) -Rhodesian Ridgeback mix / possible hound mix -Found as a stray on 01/25/2026 (came in with Mort A5751958) -Very shy in kennel but seems sweet and gentle -Thin and needs to gain weight -Currently receiving medication -Adoptable on a health and a $50 trust waiver -Would thrive in a patient, nurturing home     PALMER’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/zVrW     For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org     ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter.
