Story
Pryncess may have a name fit for a throne, but she’s actually a very modest and quiet girl. She is a shy-but-sweet soul who prefers to observe from the sidelines until she knows she’s safe. Once she trusts you, however, she reveals her true colors—a devoted, tender-hearted companion who will follow you with quiet loyalty. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2674221##

Story
Zipper is a good dog who deserves a home where she can get the love, attention, and consistency every dog needs. She has been part of our family, and this is a very difficult decision, but I want to be honest about what is best for her. Zipper had a rough start in life. When she was only about 6 weeks old, she was run over and had to have surgery on her back right paw. She still has a scar that runs from that paw up her leg and onto her stomach. That scar is actually how she got her name — Zipper. Because of major life changes, my work schedule, and preparing to sell my home, Zipper is spending too much time alone. That is not fair to her. She deserves a home where she can be included, cared for, and given the attention she needs every day. I am hoping to find Zipper a loving home with someone who has the time and stability to make her feel safe and wanted. She would do best with a person or family who can give her companionship, patience, and a consistent routine.

Story
***PLEASE NOTE*** This is just a courtesy post: Freyja is NOT with Farfel’s Farm & Rescue. Please do not inquire or apply through Farfel’s — this is a courtesy post to help Freyja’s owner find her a new home. For all inquiries, please contact Sara at sara406368@gmail.com OR (970) 658-0470. Her rehoming fee is $150 through her current owner. Freyja is a gorgeous 6-year-old, 50 lb Ridgeback / Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her ears. She’s incredibly sweet, deeply affectionate, and will gladly trade belly rubs for unconditional love. A world-class cuddler, Freyja loves nothing more than curling up beside you on the couch after a fun day of sniffing and exploring the outdoors. This smart, soulful girl adores people and warms up quickly with a gentle, patient approach. Once she trusts you (which doesn’t take long!), she’s all about love, loyalty, and snuggles. She’s house-trained, healthy, and happiest when she has room to run and a cozy spot to nap beside her human. Freyja’s Perfect Home: Freyja thrives in a calm, consistent environment and would do best as the only dog in the home. She can be nervous around other dogs and needs an experienced, confident owner who can help her continue to thrive using positive reinforcement. She would do well in an adult home or one with older children (12+). She’s done well with cats she’s lived with, though she may show prey drive with unfamiliar ones. Freyja is used to sleeping near her person — either in an open crate or near the bed — and finds comfort in being close to those she trusts. She’s got a big personality and an even bigger heart, and with the right home, she’ll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ever ask for. Why She’s Being Rehomed: This decision comes with a heavy heart. Freyja is deeply loved, and if circumstances hadn’t changed, she would never be leaving her current home. After moving in with a partner and their dogs, the multi-dog environment has proven too stressful for her. She deserves a peaceful, loving forever home where she can be the center of attention. If you’re a kind, experienced dog lover looking for a sweet, sensitive girl to share your life with, Freyja may be your perfect match. She has so much love to give — she just needs the right person to give it to. Please share to help Freyja find her forever home! She’s spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on her vaccinations. Rehoming Fee: $150 (to ensure a committed adopter) Location: Boulder, CO Contact: Sara at sara406368@gmail.com OR (970) 658-0470 Disclaimer: The dog you are interested in is a courtesy post. Farfel's Farm & Rescue often helps dogs outside our organization to find their forever homes, and these are called "courtesy posts.” By courtesy posting pets from owners and other rescues, we offer our website as a resource to help their pet gain extra exposure. The pet’s bio comes directly from the owner or rescue, and we expect them to provide accurate information, to the best of their knowledge. Farfel's Farm & Rescue in most cases has not met or evaluated these dogs, so no information about a courtesy post dog is guaranteed. We cannot accept responsibility for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by any courtesy post animals. Courtesy post pets are the sole responsibility of the owner and the adopter. In addition, Farfel's Farm & Rescue cannot take these pets in if the courtesy post adoption does not work out.

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Fresca Fund in Fort Worth, Texas at approximately 8 months old. Single pup, no littermates. From the foster: Meet Tulip! 🌷 With her mismatched blue and brown eyes and adorable radar ears, Tulip turns heads wherever she goes, but it's her sweet personality that's the real star of the show. Like many rescue dogs, Tulip is still learning that the world is a safe place. She started life as a stray and recently experienced being adopted and returned, so she needs a family that understands rescue dogs don't settle in overnight. New environments can feel overwhelming at first, but with patience, routine, and reassurance, she grows more confident every day. Tulip is a smart, food-motivated, high-energy girl who loves having a job to do. Her newest obsession is the flirt pole. It's hands-down her favorite game and a fantastic way to burn off puppy energy. She also loves puzzle feeders and enrichment activities that keep her busy brain engaged. Give this girl something fun to do, and she's one happy pup. Neighborhood strolls and park outings are some of Tulip's favorite things. She walks beautifully on leash and is a joy to take out and about. Because everything is still a bit new to her, she's learning that joggers, strollers, cyclists, and other everyday sights aren't scary, and she gets braver with every walk. To help her continue building confidence, I take her along to the coffee shop, where she's discovering that meeting new people can actually be pretty wonderful. Tulip bonds deeply with her humans and loves being part of the action. Because of that, she does have some separation anxiety and we're still working on crate training. Being left alone can be hard for her right now, and she may protest at first, but she is making progress every day. A family willing to continue helping her learn that alone time is safe will set her up for success. At night, however, she is an angel. She sleeps quietly through the entire night in her crate when it's kept in the bedroom with her people nearby. Tulip is also still polishing her house-training skills. Like many young dogs adjusting to a new routine, she may have the occasional accident while she learns the rules of her new home, but consistency, supervision, and patience go a long way with her. With scheduled potty breaks throughout the day, accidents are now minimal. She responds beautifully to praise, so every successful potty break outside earns lots of celebration and a tasty reward. She'll simply need a family willing to continue that positive routine as she settles in. Like any growing puppy, Tulip loves to chew. Fortunately, she's easily redirected to a bully stick, chew toy, or enrichment activity and is learning what belongs to her and what doesn't. Due to her enthusiasm for chasing squirrels and backyard bunnies, Tulip would do best in a home without cats. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs and adores my resident pup. They spend their days wrestling, playing tug-of-war, and zooming around the garden together. She would likely enjoy having a confident canine companion to play with and learn from. Tulip isn't looking for a perfect family, just a committed one that's willing to give her the time, patience, and understanding that every rescue dog deserves. In return, you'll get a loyal, affectionate, fun-loving companion who will reward your investment with endless love and devotion. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
