He has primarily been an outside dog, so he will need some patience and consistency with house training as he transitions into an indoor home. He is playful, strong, and full of personality. He loves to run, play, and stay active, so he would thrive with someone who enjoys daily walks, outdoor time, or has a secure yard for him to burn off energy. Like many Rottweilers, he is intelligent and capable of learning quickly with the right structure and leadership. I am looking for a committed dog owner who understands large breeds and can provide guidance, routine, and affection. He would do best in a stable home that can give him the time and attention he deserves as he adjusts to being more of an indoor family member. Tucker is the sweetest most lovable, goofy boy. He may push his nose up under you arm for attention but just to be close. He is well trained and responds to commands, but he is also fiercely loyal to his family. He bonds quickly and stands alert to any possible challenges. I am writing on behalf of our daughter who emotionally and without a plan adopted Tucker because she saw him daily as a puppy returned to a daycare where an older woman had adopted him not realizing he would get bigger! I understand this reaction because he grabs your heart almost immediately. Unfortunately, our daughter did not anticipate the time required to go to school for a teaching credential while working 2 jobs. In the end she became ill with the stress of her situation and was hospitalized for a week for unbearable headaches and fever. it was then, that her 70 year old parents knew we had to step in to try to find Tucker a loving home. We cannot adopt Tucker because, simply, we are too old.
