Story
Looks like: Rottweiler, Great Dane mix Male, 7 years old (estimated), 80 pounds This big dude with his big personality, big smile, and big heart, is the biggest lovebug around. He is dreaming of lovely humans that will snuggle with him all the time, hold his big paws, and tell him that everything is going to be alright from here on out. Gannon was found as a stray, emaciated and weak, and is now slowly building up his weight and muscle-tone. Currently, his stamina is a bit low, but at his foster home, he loves going on leisurely walks and yard saunterings, and he is starting to regain some strength. He begrudgingly accepts the fact that he is not a small lapdog, and politely lays down very close next to you on the couch. When given permission, Mr. Affection will gingerly put his legs on you and smush his head into your torso. Although he prefers the company of people, he also gets along well with dogs of all sizes and is very gentle with small dogs. We have not yet observed his behavior around cats or children, but assume that he will be friendly and tender around anyone. Gannon is perfectly house trained and he hardly ever barks; when he does it's just one "woof". When left home alone, he may initially whine and feel a bit anxious, but quickly calms down and settles in for a nap. On car rides, he is super mellow, chilling out on the back seat. This big snuggle buddy would love to find a home where he can spend lots of time with his humans and show everyone just how loving, sweet, trusting, and silly he is! Sweet Gannon joined us from Stanislaus Animal Services after being picked up as a stray. Want to see more of Gannon? His foster mom created his very own website!! Story
Meet Logan! This handsome, active young Rottweiler mix came to the Shelter as a stray so we don`t know anything about his history... We know he loves attention and is still learning to contain his excitement when he gets it - from people OR from dogs! Like a lot of young dogs who haven`t had much training, he sometimes jumps up on people to get TLC. Our volunteers are working with him to learn to sit nicely by people’s feet, but darn it, he just likes everyone SO MUCH!! Logan’s ideal adopter(s) will provide plenty of daily mental and physical stimulation in the form of positive reinforcement based training, playing fetch with tennis balls, and going for adventures out in the world. Logan`s met dogs at the Shelter and just like with people, he gets so overwhelmed with excitement that he can be a bit rude and clueless! He doesn`t seem to have a lot of history interacting with dogs and therefore makes a bit of a fool of himself, is still learning how dogs say `hey, that`s enough!` and may get corrected by other, more socially-savvy dogs until he gets the message. A home with another dog savvy large breed dog may be a fit, but he`ll likely need a bit of management while he develops his social skills. Logan may be just as happy as the only dog in a home, as long as he gets good exercise and training. We don`t know how Logan would be living with kids, cats, or small animals, but he`s still quite young and capable of learning - even if he`s a bit slow on the uptake...Through April 30th – all dogs over 40 lbs have a ½ off adoption fee! Big dogs have lots of love to share so consider adding one to your family today!

Story
Pete T is a 10 year old mostly black bi-color Rottweiller / German Shepherd mix.  He is happy boy whose favorite thing is to play fetch with his human.  Pete takes treats gently, loves to carry a ball around with him, and has the waggiest tail you are likely to encounter.  He is good with adults, dogs, and older kids.  Pete is a high energy, athletic dog.  He would love to have a strong, patient foster or adopter to guide him with basic commands and leash manners. Thulani does not charge an adoption fee and provides medical coverage for life.  Our seniors come with a supply of food, a cushy bed, and their favorite toys. ##1707838##

Story
Looks like: Boxer, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever Mix Male, 8 years old (estimated), 71 pounds Meet the dog with the world's biggest heart! Hank has tons of love to share in the form of cuddles, snuggles, and adoration for his family. Hank refuses to pick favorites-in fact, he's a fan of yours already! He has excellent manners-no jumping up when saying hello, never begging, and asking permission before getting onto a bed or couch. Hank would be happiest in a house where folks have deep reserves of affection ready to share with him. This energetic boy will need people who welcome a dog with spirit, strength, and passions: car rides, long walks, hikes, and fetch (only the best game in the world). He has shown some dog reactivity while on leash, but with reminders and training he's already showing signs of improvement. He has successfully lived with cats in the past, but would require a gradual introduction with any new kitty friends. He admits that his natural inclination is to chase cats (squirrels are also kind of irresistible). Hank sometimes protects his resources when he settles into a home. He would be best in a home as a solo dog or with a pup who is happy to share toys and chews and won't be bothered by Hank's miserly tendencies at times! We don't know yet how Hank would do with children. Hank's dream situation would include humans of his very own to love, squeaky toys, and a yard. Hank's DNA results show that he's a Super Mutt Mix! He's 50% Boxer mixed with German Shepherd, Golden Retriever and Border Collie. Hank was surrendered to us because his senior guardian was no longer able to care for him.
