This sweet Rottweiler mix may only be about 20 lbs right now — and we don’t expect him to be a big guy — but his personality? Absolutely larger than life. Archie is neutered, fully vaccinated, and thriving in his foster home. After a past spinal injury, he has worked incredibly hard to regain his strength. He’s walking well and continues to make amazing progress every single day. He may always have a slightly awkward gait and could develop early arthritis down the road, but none of that slows his happy, goofy, tail-wagging spirit. He doesn’t see himself as anything other than a normal, playful puppy — and we agree. He’s currently fostered with both dogs and cats and truly loves everyone. Archie is social, affectionate, and just wants to be part of the fun. Whether he’s playing with friends or soaking up attention from his people, he’s all in. Archie will need a family who understands his history and is committed to keeping him healthy and comfortable as he grows — but in return, you’ll get a loyal, joyful best friend who wakes up every day ready to live life to the fullest. He's fine to just lay and chill all day with his people 2 good walks a day and some play is all this boy needs He needs to stay on a high protein/fat diet to maintain weight Just wants someone to love and give him his best life A note from foster- He is a lovely boy and has done very well! He loves to play and hang out. At bedtime he is happy to run to his crate for his nighttime cookie! He loves to sunbathe in the yard and watch the world go by. He's good with the female dog he is paired with for play. He also loves the water hose!! He goes bananas to get wet. With a simple leave it, he will not chase the water spray. Overall he is going to make someone a wonderful dog! A little patience at first does a world of wonders for him to warm up quickly. Rocket can be a bit unsure of the outside world, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time he needs to feel safe and confident. Rocket recently tested positive for heartworms, but he’s already on the road to recovery. His treatment is being done right at the rescue by our veterinarian and is fully covered by Runaways Animal Rescue. Despite everything, Rocket remains a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants love and companionship.
