Story
Ronnie, or as some of us like to call him, Ronald, is an amazing Rottie with a top dog personality. He is brave, protective, and always charming. He is also quite the dancer when you give him a good scratching on his back end. This eight year old senior is still a power house, who will tell you how it is and if he does or doesn't agree with something. He adores food and is quite a good eater with both food and treats, which makes training fun for both you and him. His favorite summer activity is to play in the hose, catching the water with his mouth while also staying cool. He is also a huge fan of car rides and loves his weekly trips where he can stick his head out of the window for some fresh air. As macho as he is, Ronnie also has a soft side, where he loves to be loved on by people he trusts most. He has a few human friends here at Satchel's that bring out his inner puppy side. He is not a big fan of sharing attention and would prefer to be the only canine companion. He can be a trickster as well, so underestimating him in any way will leave you humbled. This wonderful boy would need an adult only home, with people who understand, and respect him, that can give him the love and warmth he deserves. If you are interested in Ronnie, please fill out the adoption application (no commitment) on our website, at Satchelslastresort.org.

Story
Bruiser arrived in our care with a mass. After having our veterinarian evaluate him, it was decided that the mass needed to be removed. The pathology report did reveal that it was a soft tissue sarcoma, a form of cancer. The margins were clear and we are hopeful that there will be no recurrence. Strong as an Ox with the heart of gold, Bruiser is a force to be reckoned with. This handsome Rottweiler of ten years young is always ready for an adventure, searching the front gate for a friend that needs some company. He loves the weekend, when his Woof Pack member comes to take him for a car ride, going to new places for exploring and new people to meet. Bruiser adores people, greeting them with side hugs or an excited sniff down in hope of a meaty treat. He can put on a show with a rump scratch, which causes his back legs to dance back and forth. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite, and the smaller the more fun. He does not like going to the vet, or having procedures done, so a muzzle would be needed. He has not shown much interest in other canine companions, but could possibly make a friend. Bruiser would be most comfortable in a home with adults that can respect his boundaries. If you are interested in Bruiser and would love to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Ellie has been a part of family for less than a year, but she’s become the best part of it. We have a two year old son who absolutely adores her. She is so sweet and loving. She love to go for walks and loves playing. Unfortunately, she isn’t allowed to stay in our home per our landlord. We want the best possible home for Ellie because she deserves it.

Story
Diamond is a sweet loving dog who we decided to get for my at time partners son. Unfortunately things have changed and I have 2 by myself. I feel it’s unfair to Diamond as she is a puppy still and has lots of energy to burn. She is timid of people- not mean just nervous at first til she’s comfortable. She doesn’t bark a lot and she doesn’t escape like a Husky. She loves to play and walk but doesn’t like to be left behind to walk another doggy. This is a hard decision as I do love her however with me alone and I travel a lot I feel it is best for her to having a loving home with people who can spend more time with her.

Story
Mardi is a 4 year old affectionate 52 lb-er who loves the company of people and dogs. She is a happy pup who loves to play, stealth at stealing socks, hides under shower curtain and looks like “Layla the Boxer.” Mardi is house broken, leash trained, and knows several commands. She was found as a stray in Punta Gorda by Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County. She is a big fan for squeaky toys, sweet potato, baby talk, walks, car rides, making new friends in dog parks. She has not interacted with kids or cats with me but suspect with her social tendencies, would enjoy. She is attentive, curious, loves belly rubs & believes she is a lap dog. She enjoys sleeping (sometimes snoring after dog park visit) in her crate. Mardi craves attention and would be happy in a home with space to run and people and/or dogs to play with. I am starting a new job with significant travel and recognize she needs stability. Message me if you would be interested in meeting her.
