Story
Ronnie, or as some of us like to call him, Ronald, is an amazing Rottie with a top dog personality. He is brave, protective, and always charming. He is also quite the dancer when you give him a good scratching on his back end. This eight year old senior is still a power house, who will tell you how it is and if he does or doesn't agree with something. He adores food and is quite a good eater with both food and treats, which makes training fun for both you and him. His favorite summer activity is to play in the hose, catching the water with his mouth while also staying cool. He is also a huge fan of car rides and loves his weekly trips where he can stick his head out of the window for some fresh air. As macho as he is, Ronnie also has a soft side, where he loves to be loved on by people he trusts most. He has a few human friends here at Satchel's that bring out his inner puppy side. He is not a big fan of sharing attention and would prefer to be the only canine companion. He can be a trickster as well, so underestimating him in any way will leave you humbled. This wonderful boy would need an adult only home, with people who understand, and respect him, that can give him the love and warmth he deserves. If you are interested in Ronnie, please fill out the adoption application (no commitment) on our website, at Satchelslastresort.org.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bruiser arrived in our care with a mass. After having our veterinarian evaluate him, it was decided that the mass needed to be removed. The pathology report did reveal that it was a soft tissue sarcoma, a form of cancer. The margins were clear and we are hopeful that there will be no recurrence. Strong as an Ox with the heart of gold, Bruiser is a force to be reckoned with. This handsome Rottweiler of ten years young is always ready for an adventure, searching the front gate for a friend that needs some company. He loves the weekend, when his Woof Pack member comes to take him for a car ride, going to new places for exploring and new people to meet. Bruiser adores people, greeting them with side hugs or an excited sniff down in hope of a meaty treat. He can put on a show with a rump scratch, which causes his back legs to dance back and forth. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite, and the smaller the more fun. He does not like going to the vet, or having procedures done, so a muzzle would be needed. He has not shown much interest in other canine companions, but could possibly make a friend. Bruiser would be most comfortable in a home with adults that can respect his boundaries. If you are interested in Bruiser and would love to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
Captain is a super sweet and loving pup who was found as a stray in Nassau, Bahamas during a spay and neuter clinic. He was set to be released as per standard for a clinic, but he didn't have a pack waiting for him and he asked us if he could stay by giving us his paw. We are so grateful this sweet boy chose us as we eventually found out he has TVT (a type of cancer from mating/breeding). Unfortunately it is contagious so until he has finished his treatment, he will do best as a solo pup as we cannot risk the spread which happens through contact. He is also heartworm positive and has begun treatment.  Captain is such a wonderful boy who will make the most loving companion. He can't wait to meet you! ##2016422##

Story
Mia is a 3-year-old, black and tan rottweiler mix, and weighs 57 pounds. She came in as a stray from the Zephyrhills area. The finder noted she looked pregnant or post-partum. After intake and a medical exam, radiographs confirmed – she’s a mom and she delivered 8 beautiful babbies on 3/11/24!  Mama Mia, might just be the sweetest and loving pup  we have every met and she is absolutely a staff favorite. She is now microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative.  She is still nursing her babies, but will be ready for a home of her very own around May 15th.  She loves her daily walks around the property and seems to be house-trained.  She loves being with her people and belly rubs. She also loves to play fetch, if you are looking for a wonderful pup, she might be the one for you.  If you would like to meet me, please complete an online questionnaire and one of our adoption counselors will be reaching out to see if I will be a good fit for you and your home.  Hope to see you soon!  https://www.fluffanimalrescue.org/adoption-application My adoption fee includes my sterilization, microchip and registration, all core vaccines to date, dewormer and 1st month's Flea and Heartworm Preventatives. Story
Meet Theo He is a very loveable Rottie! The Rottie looks with a SUPER sweet personality great for any experience level. He was a transfer to us from another rescue and is looking for that wonderful home. He was found as a stray and no one came forward to claim him, but we will not let him dwell on his past. This sweet and loving guy is the perfect cuddle bug and would love a family to call his own before the end of the year! He is house trained, crate trained, good with kids over the age of 10 (Has not been tested around children under 10) He is a super sensitive guy and is great for someone who has experience in dogs who need that perfect home to open up and flourish! We will be offering continuing training if you are within 50 miles of us and a discounted rate. He is Neutered, UTD on Vaccinations, Microchipped, Heartworm Negative, and will go home with a supply of heartworm meds. Contact us today for more information! He special need is that we are unsure why he will not keep weight, he has had testing done and no known cause yet. It does not deter him from living a normal life, he is just a hard keeper of weight. His ideal weight should be about 85-90# but he has stayed in the 66-67# range. If you would like to Foster, also please reach out! We supply everything!

Story
I'm Arya! I was confiscated from my previous owner. I was living outside and they found me with fishing wire embedded into my neck because they were using it as a leash. I was covered in wounds and very very skinny :( My previous family didn't care about me at all. But, that hasn't stopped me from being the nicest and sweetest girl around! Because I was living outside, I was not used to living in a house so I'm still working on my potty training skills! I am learning so fast though! I walk well on a leash. I need slow introductions to my doggy friends.  ##2001758##

Story
Sweet Dusty Recently, we took in the sweetest obese boxer mix named Dusty. Sadly, Dusty and his siblings went to a "rescue in rural north Florida when they were just puppies and never left. It was organized hoarding and his entire life has been spent in a dark kennel After noticing his rapid weight gain and realizing the urgency, a volunteer drove 6 hours each way to get him. About a year ago, he was just 60-65lbs and he arrived here weighing a whopping 112.8lbs He looked like he was going to BURST. He was overfed cheap dog food, had very little exercise and his recent bloodwork revealed that he had hypothyroid and needed medication urgently. We are ecstatic to announce that in just a few weeks with us, Dusty has lost 11 POUNDS! After thyroid medication, good food and lots of play time, he prances around like he just got his bikini body back While we would love to keep Dusty with us, we feel he could go on to his forever home to continue his weight loss journey. His thyroid medication is only about $20 every 6 weeks. He doesn't need prescription food, but does need good quality dog food to continue to help him. He is great with dogs, cats and people and is a true gem. He currently weighs around 100lbs, but should get back to 65-70 one day. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and in Tampa. If you would like to adopt our sweet big boy, please complete an application. His adoption fee is $250. https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process

Story
*Foster home needed!* Sweet Stormy Our big, handsome boxer mix is looking for a home of his own, for the first time in his young life. Stormy came from North Florida where he was born in a "rescue facility" (along with his brothers Sonny & Dusty in L4P too) and forced to grow up there. He is surprisingly well socialized for not having seen the world. Stormy is a jolly guy. He's happy, personable and makes friends easy. He's big and strong on the leash, but such a nice dog. He doesn't require much, but his ideal home would have someone home more often than not. He likes companionship and to relax at home, but could also learn new things with his person. He is great with dogs of all sizes from small seniors to large playmates, both male and female. However, he isn't really into playing with other dogs. He's a great companion and would enjoy an easy going dog to coexist with or would be fine as your only dog. Stormy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is 6 years old (born January 2018), about 80lbs and currently in the Tampa area (spring hill). His adoption fee is $250. If you can give Stormy a forever home, please complete this application: https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process If you are interested in giving Stormy a foster home, please complete this application: https://www.love4pawsfl.org/foster *fosters must be in Tampa, Sarasota or in between.

Story
Sweet Sonny Sonny is one of our 3 boxer mix brothers that we just adore. They are sweet, harmless, big boys. Sonny is the smallest of the three brothers at about 65lbs and also the most reserved. He's such a sweet soul. The boys were born in North Florida at "rescue" facility and never allowed to be adopted out and leave. Sonny was born in January 2018 and has spent his entire 6 year life there. He came into our rescue in January and has since been working on coming out of his shell. We have learned that Sonny loves the backyard and gets happy zoomies out there. He has lived with all size dogs - small, medium and large - and currently lives with two cats. He is so submissive that the cats can stand next to him while he eats and he doesn't bat an eye. He's a gem. Sonny will need time to continue coming out of his shell and learning about the world. However, he's a great dog and an even better companion. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and HW-. He is on inexpensive thyroid medication (about $20 for 6 weeks), but that may not be needed forever. He is in St. Petersburg and his adoption fee is $250. If you can open your home to our sweet, shy boy, please complete an application: www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process
