The world can feel overwhelming to him, and he needs someone who will be patient while he learns that he is finally safe. But once he feels comfortable, Rusty shows his sweet side — he is a cuddly, gentle boy who just wants to be close to someone he can trust.He may need a little extra time to come out of his shell, but we know there is so much love waiting inside this scared little puppy. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Meet Mishka! Mishka is a loving, adorable 5-year-old Rottweiler. This girl is the definition of sweet. She absolutely loves her people and is a friend to everyone she meets. Before Mishka came to Furkids, she was found as a stray with a severely injured back leg. To give her the best chance at a pain free life, her leg had to be amputated. But to Mishka, it's not a big deal at all. She gets around just fine on three legs! Mishka is still new to us, so we're getting to know more about her everyday. Mishka currently weighs 57 pounds and her estimated birthdate is July 2021. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. *Rottie Mix*1 yr old; 51lbs*Very friendly, affectionate, playful, well balanced girl. Great in doggy play groups. Go with the flow attitude. It`s easy to love me and fall for me, super fast!!  Arriving as a stray,  I was in great shape, my spirit was intact and I was immediately ready to start interviewing for my new pet position.  There are many wonderful things about me that I think you`ll really like. At a 1 yr old,  you kind of know what you`re getting personality and energy-wise with me.  I`m a mid-level energy gal, graced with a sporting look and feel and I`ve never met a stranger.  My tail is in steady wag, wag mode and I gladly share my brilliant smile with all.  I`m pretty easy to manage - not too strong but not a limp noodle leash gal- and I think what attracts most people to me is how friendly, welcoming and go with the flow I am.  On our first date,  I`ll kiss you on the face, place my paws in your lap and then nicely stretch out and relax at your feet.  I`m not pushy or overwhelming but do enjoy giving and receiving affection and attention from my human. I also like playing with tennis balls and will lightly tote them around.   If all of the above does not entice you to bring me home,  I`m also great with other dogs!  I`ve done well in doggy play groups.  I`m not the sidelines girl but I do actively engage with all.  Currently,  I have a roomie and she`s really terrific.   A larger girl with a very playful, spunky personality,  we enjoy each other a lot and are good for each other til someone like YOU comes to bring me home. I hope to see you soon as it`s clear my pet skills are not being fully tapped into day in and day out.  Do come and ask for CHLOE today!
