Story
Tilly Mae is a 2 year old, 65 pound spayed female Rottweiler that had her former owner fall prey to difficult time with his personal life and he could not take care of her.  The alternative was taking her to a local shelter in Tennessee  (not a good option for a Rottweiler) or finding a kind person to take her and foster her while looking for a new home.  Steve was the kind man who worked with her owner and stepped up to help.  Now Critter Cavalry Rescue is working with Steve and Tilly Mae to find her the perfect, Rottie savvy home where she can continue her obedience training and can thrive with strong leadership and guidance. This breed is amazing in intelligence, devotion to their family and stamina to withstand the many changes in life.  She is spayed and is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative.  Now let's talk about this special girl and what she is all about.   Tilly Mae is very much a puppy - energetic and outgoing, she loves going on walks, exploring new places, and being the high-energy gal that she is. Tilly prominently displays the great traits of the Rottweiler breed, and she is extremely loyal to her people. In a new home Tilly Mae can take a day or two to become comfortable. When she is excited she can become a little barky as she gets to know the new environment or people she is meeting. We call it her  'exploratory barking', but she has never displayed aggression towards people or animals - and her foster is working to continue to socialize Tilly. At the end of the day, Tilly loves nothing more than jumping on the couch or bed for a good snuggle. Tilly knows basic commands - sit, stay, paw. She is comfortable in the crate for workday-duration periods of time, and she is house trained. Tilly does great in the car, where she sits or lays calmly. Tilly tends to alert to unfamiliar sounds or people around her house or environment, but that behavior has decreased over her time in her foster's care. Tilly can often be found on her back, all four paws up in the air - or bringing a bone over to her owner, proudly displaying her hard work.Tilly would thrive in an active home as either a solo dog or with a friend - she has no previous experience with kids, cats, or other animals. Tilly Mae is looking for an active, patient family who will match her energy and give her the time she needs to fully open up - because once she does, she is an incredibly devoted companion. If you have been considering adding a loyal, spirited Rottweiler to your life, Tilly Mae might just be your girl.  Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  Critter Cavalry Rescue will respond immediately.  Please tell us where you live when inquiring.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 26, 2026, 7:30 pm
