Story
This handsome fellow is Riley. He’s a sweet boy and has a gorgeous coat that shines in the sun. He loves to play - chase and fetch are his favorites! Evening snuggles on the couch are high on his list too, and he’ll sprawl in your lap for a nice belly rub. He’s always up for a car ride or a hike (preferably both!) Riley’s a smart cookie and knows all his commands and listens well. And he gets a gold star for his excellent house manners, so no need for a crate for this pup. Riley was just a baby when he was adopted from Save A Dog in 2020. Clearly he was adored and pampered by his people, but sadly lost his home due to divorce. He really wants to bond with a new person or two and call them all his own. He can be nervous meeting new folks, but will warm up with the help of a few tasty treats. Once he’s comfortable, he loves hugs and will lean his full weight against you trusting that you’ll hold him up! He’s calm and friendly meeting other dogs, and happy to play. Kitties are new to him, but he’s doing well with the felines in his foster home. Since he wasn’t raised around kiddos, an adult home is recommended for him. Riley is such a good boy, and he’ll be a wonderful companion in his forever home. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp. Story
We have two new Rottweilers in our program, Bear and Archie who are brothers. They were born on November 8, 2022 so still pretty young. We will be finding them each their own home unless we get lucky and find a home that can take both of them. Bear and Archie have been with their owner since they were tiny puppies. Their family dynamics has changed as their senior mother is having to move in with them and there is too much of a fall risk for her with two large dogs. They are between 130 and 140 pounds with Bear being the largest. They are a tad spoiled in that they love to sleep with their owner and are quick to roll over for belly rubs. Bear is a little better at walking on a leash than Archie. They haven’t had much exposure outside their home as they live on 2 acres of land and enjoy that life. They are housebroken and love their squeaky toys. Bear tends to follow you room to room and is probably more confident than Archie yet Archie seems to be a little more chill and a bit more shy than Bear. We will be posting some new photos soon. If you would like an adoption application, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET. This is the BEST way to get an application and to get the ball rolling! We have foster homes in several areas. We do have transport available.

Story
Kiwi would just love to meet you! This sweet, incredibly snuggly 110 lb. Rottweiler girl absolutely adores attention from people. Her new family should be physically able to walk a strong pup, but should also note that Kiwi melts into a puddle of mush when petted and loved on. She has plenty of energy, but also would adore an afternoon cuddling. Kiwi is proud to help train our new volunteer dog walkers, an although she is big, her kind personality and appreciation for attention has made her a shining star at the shelter. Kiwi wants to find a home that will love to pet and cuddle her. She can sometimes guard her most special toys, and although she loves kids, they must be old to be able to know that if she has these special things, they should not try to take them from her. This girl has been able to easily hang out around other dog-friendly dogs, but might really enjoy a home where she is the only dog, because she loves and gives so much attention to people. Kiwi is looking for a stable home, who can provide exercise, attention and make sure that this next family will be her permanent home. If Kiwi would be a good fit for your home, please head to WARL's website worcesterarl.org and click on Kiwi's photo to fill out the Dog Adoption inquiry Form underneath her bio. That is the first step! All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper, slow introductionsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Older children only (16+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesIf you’re looking for the ultimate companion, Jaxtyn checks all of the boxes: he’s extremely smart, attentive, dedicated, and eager to make his humans happy. (Plus, he’s extra, extra handsome if we do so say so ourselves!)Jaxtyn absolutely loves affection and thrives on the connection he makes with his humans. While he does prefer a slower introduction when meeting new people, he quickly becomes comfortable and loves to show off his impressive manners. Jax gets along well with other dogs after proper introductions (he can still be wary of new friends he meets on the street), and while he would enjoy a dog sibling to nap and play with, he would be just as happy as an only dog where he can be the center of attention.Jaxtyn has been working diligently on his training with his foster dad and has an impressive skillset that includes focus and release commands, expert-level leash-walking skills, and all of his basic commands like ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘wait’. Jaxtyn is fully house and crate-trained and thrives with structure and routine. Jaxtyn is currently working to gain more confidence on walks around things like bikes, scooters, or busy sidewalks and he’s making stellar progress. Jaxtyn would do great in a home in the city as he’s shown he can be comfortable in an urban setting or would love a more low-key house in the suburbs with a yard to romp and roam in. Bonus - he’s great in the car so he’d be thrilled to be your adventure buddy! Jaxtyn is an amazing boy who’s ready to find - and unconditionally love - his family! April 22, 2024, 5:49 am
