Story
Harley has been at the shelter for over 18 months. She is a very social and happy girl, lots of energy. She puts her arms around you and gives the best hugs. The ideal home for Harley would be an active individual or family. She does well with larger dogs and older sturdier kids. No cats. She is strong and does pull on the leash, but we’re working on it😊. Harley has been assigned to the Handsome Dan's Rescue shelter dog enrichment program and will be attending classes weekly to begin working on basic skills. Any questions please reach out to Judie hdrjudie@gmail.com. To apply to adopt Harley: HandsomeDansRescue.org Thank you for choosing rescue!

Story
She is well-trained and well-socialized. She is fearless and loves challenges. She was the most fearful puppy in the shelter when I got her at the age of 6 mo. She would do well with a home with LARGE fenced nature areas and one or two higher energy respectful dog friends if doesn't plan on making long-term dog friends. she has separation anxiety. For now, she needs human just chilling in the same room with her. 😃 She loves to nap a lot, car rides, hike, dig, funny toys, and zoomies! 🥺She is a reserved girl protective of her owner. 😵She is still scared of traditional daycare places with 10+ dogs. 😌She shy and quirky and will make you feel like the luckiest most special dog parent.

Story
We have two new Rottweilers in our program, Bear and Archie who are brothers. They were born on November 8, 2022 so still pretty young. We will be finding them each their own home unless we get lucky and find a home that can take both of them. Bear and Archie have been with their owner since they were tiny puppies. Their family dynamics has changed as their senior mother is having to move in with them and there is too much of a fall risk for her with two large dogs. They are between 130 and 140 pounds with Bear being the largest. They are a tad spoiled in that they love to sleep with their owner and are quick to roll over for belly rubs. Bear is a little better at walking on a leash than Archie. They haven’t had much exposure outside their home as they live on 2 acres of land and enjoy that life. They are housebroken and love their squeaky toys. Bear tends to follow you room to room and is probably more confident than Archie yet Archie seems to be a little more chill and a bit more shy than Bear. We will be posting some new photos soon. If you would like an adoption application, EMAIL STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET. This is the BEST way to get an application and to get the ball rolling! We have foster homes in several areas. We do have transport available.

Meet Ruby Adoption Application Here https://forms.gle/GEtBfbJsxxztyycP7 Ruby is a beautiful mixed breed - maybe Rottweiler, but can’t be sure as she was rescued from a Mississippi pound. Ruby is a sweet girl who is independent and a great companion for someone who doesn’t want a lap dog. She is smart and loves to be outside! Ruby has not been around children but should be fine with older kids as she’s going to be a larger dog. Ruby prefers to come to you rather than being chased after to be picked up. - LOVES other dogs of all ages and sizes - up to date on age appropriate shots including rabies; heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention - quiet and low-key. She’s not a super needy dog so if you want a companion who isn’t too demanding to be in your lap all day she’s your girl! - Crate trained and mostly house trained. 4/5 Pick Up in Johnston RI -OR- 4/8 Pick up in Westport MA - Approx 16 weeks old - UTD on age-appropriate vaccines - Dewormed - UTD on flea/tick and heartworm prevention Adoption fee of $600 includes a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit. - OR- Adoption fee of $750 includes a voucher for spay/neuter at Potter League Spay & Neuter Clinic (located in Warwick RI)

Story
Luna will be a special needs adoption. She recently went through some extensive treatment for an autoimmune disorder that may or may not reoccur later on in life. She may also be placed on medication for the rest of her life. She hasn't let that get her down, though! She's a sweet three and a half year old lady that loves to give kisses and nudge people's hands for pets. She's an extroverted angel that loves strangers. She's so, so incredibly smart and knows so many cues and doesn't walk too bad on a leash for a 95lb dog! She loves toys and loves to play but she also loves to snuggle and get as many kisses as she can (and also give them right back!) We are working on getting them into Doberman Rescue Unlimited. However, it takes time, and there is a process. We figured that we would post these two beautiful dogs and see if anyone would be interested in either of them. If they are adopted before they are able to be transferred, great!Luna would do best as the only animal in the home. She's very, VERY shy around other dogs and it's clear that they make her uncomfortable no matter how friendly and well-mannered they are. We would also prefer any children in the home be 12+. Visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Porkchop is about two years old and a smidgen smaller than Luna at about 75lbs. He's a bit heavier of a pull on a leash but is no less smart and eager to please AND learn! He's shown a little bit of possessiveness over treats (will freeze, growl, avoid, etc but has not escalated to attempting to bite) so we would be most comfortable if he were the only animal in the home as well. He's another one that is a social butterfly when it comes to people and he just loves attention!Note: We are working on getting them into Doberman Rescue Unlimited. However, it takes time, and there is a process. We figured that we would post these two beautiful dogs and see if anyone would be interested in either of them.
