Story
Rudy is a joyful, affectionate gal with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. She’s the kind of pup who brings sunshine wherever she goes! Rudy is one of three devoted pups heartbreakingly left behind when their family moved away. True to a dog’s loyal nature, they stayed together, faithfully waiting for someone who never returned. Thankfully, a rescue discovered them just in time and she was then fostered by a young man teaching himself dog training. He gave Rudy a second chance at the love she deserves.Rudy gets along beautifully with other dogs and loves to play—especially with her beloved toys, which she happily shares during playtime. This smart cookie has been working hard on her training and already knows her basic commands. She’s leash trained, house trained, and crate trained—truly the full package! Rudy thrives in the company of other furry friends, so we’re looking for a home where she’ll have a doggy sibling (or two!) to keep her company. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and well-mannered companion who’s ready to be part of your forever family, Rudy is your girl—you’ll fall in love instantly!Name: RudyBreed: Rottweiler MixSex: FemaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 54.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
We have had Shelby since she was a pup. She came up from the south. She has just turned 6 in April. She had been our only dog until we brought a Yorkie home, around October/ 24. We figured it would take a while for her to get use to a new dog. It is now May/ 25 and she still has not excepted him. In fact, she has attacked him twice. We have to keep them separated, all of the time. Shelby has always been anxious around people and anything that is different, in her environment. She is content to lay on the couch with her favorite person sitting next to her. She is not a dog that likes to be snuggled and hugged, but wants to be near you. She walks good on a leash, lets you brush her teeth and stands still when you bathe her. She needs an experienced person to be the Alpha. We love our Shelby, but we are afraid she will hurt our Yorkie.

Story
Meet Ava!   Ava is a beautiful, submissive Rottweiler who’s learning what love and kindness truly feel like. Rescued from a rural shelter in central Texas, Ava spent her early years being used for breeding and living in a garage. She came from a neglectful situation—shockingly, at the hands of a former police officer—and is now beginning her journey toward healing.   Now in foster care on Martha’s Vineyard, Ava is truly coming out of her shell. She loves getting the zoomies and finally getting to be a happy, loved girl. She’s doing great with potty training—accidents are few and far between—and she’s thriving in a home environment.   Ava adores her foster siblings, including two Rottweilers and a tiny Chihuahua, and she’s incredibly gentle with all of them. She’s shown no prey drive toward the chickens or the farm animals around her, making her a great fit for a rural or farm setting.   Despite her past, Ava is sweet and eager to please. She’s great with dogs of all sizes and has done well with cats. She’s very submissive, with no signs of fear aggression—just a kind soul who needs patience and encouragement as she continues learning to trust.   Ava is crate trained and will do best in a calm, reassuring home where she can continue to build on her confidence, feel safe, and enjoy her happy, silly zoomie time.   If you believe in second chances and have room in your heart for a gentle, deserving girl—apply for Ava today. Breed experience is preferred for her adopter!    This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2331474##
