Story
Meet Guero! Guero is a friendly and energetic young dog ready to find a home of his very own. Guero thrives on a healthy mix of affection, walks, and play to keep him happy and fulfilled. He's only a year old and seems to think himself a forever puppy - bouncy, happy, and endlessly adorable! He is still working on his basic house manners and training. Guero has lived with his sister and visited dog parks before, but can be overexcited meeting dogs at times. He could do well with a well-matched canine companion in the home and, since he has lived with cats before, could do well with cats after a slow introduction. **If you are interested in Guero, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours**

Story
Meet Midnight! Midnight is a bouncy, playful, and affectionate young rottweiler looking to be someone's BFF and sidekick. She tends to be confident and loves to explore and go for walks. She does still have her puppy energy and adopters should be ready to work with her on basic manners and house training. Midnight has lived with another dog before and likes to play rough, so a companion that can match her size and playstyle would be ideal. She has no experience with cats, we would recommend a slow introduction to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals. Midnight is still a young and can be jumpy at times, she would do best with dog savvy children who are comfortable with a big, affectionate puppy. **if you are interested in Midnight, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours!**

Story
Brutus's Story Brutus There’s no pre-heating needed to get this guy to warm up to you! Brutus has a sweet disposition and is friendly and affectionate with people right from the start. He’s easygoing, too – 30 minutes after we met him, he curled up and relaxed on the floor while the humans chatted around him. Rescued after being abandoned behind a restaurant, Brutus is estimated to be two to four years old. He is a good-size boy, weighing about 60 pounds, but is gentle and aware of his size. He takes well to being handled and groomed with a brush. Brutus walks nicely on leash and seems to be good around other dogs, showing interest and keeping calm. We’ll learn and share more as we get to know him better. Better yet, please reach out to us and come meet this sweet boy for yourself! Story
Lainey is a high-energy, playful, and affectionate young dog who’s always ready for her next adventure. She is a lively, curious girl who loves to explore the world around her.Lainey is very playful and thrives in an active home. She adores playtime, especially chasing a ball or frisbee, and loves going on long walks. If you're looking for a hiking buddy, look no further! After a fun-filled day, she’s happy to cuddle up and soak in affection. This girl loves her people. She lives with other dogs and does great with them. A fenced in yard is NOT a requirement for her, but if you do have one under 6ft, it will probably be no match for Lainey. If you plan to utilize a fenced in yard for this active girl, the fence will need to be at least 6ft! This adventurous girl is quite athletic! Lainey walks well on leash (she does pull a little bit sometimes!), and she rides nicely in the car. Lainey is crate trained and knows the command “Kennel Up” (a treat helps!). She sleeps well in her crate all night long and is kenneled when no one is home. As a medium-sized, high-energy dog, she will benefit from consistent training to help channel her enthusiasm into good habits. With the right guidance, exercise, and love, Lainey will be a loyal, fun-loving, and adventurous companion ready to join you on life’s next journey.Name: LaineyBreed: Rottweiler/Lab/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 1.5 years  (estimated)Weight: 45lbsSpayed/Neutered: yesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Tennessee  IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Bailey Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!  Bailey is a special lady that will slowly and quietly work her way into your heart. Having spent most of her first year living outside with minimal human interaction she is slowly learning that being inside is pretty nice and humans can be too! She needs at least one other dog and a fenced yard. She extremely shy and skittish (flight risk at first), but will open once she builds trust and feels safe, but it will take time. Bailey loves to eat and is extremely food motivated, the quickest way to her heart is peanut butter and freeze dried liver, but really any treat will do-even apples. Once she trusts you she will come to you for pets and love.  She needs a very patient adopter willing to give her the time to adjust and trust, but it is well worth it. She is incredibly sweet. She will benefit from professional training to help her continue to make progress.  Teens and older only, busy kids are too much for her. She'd also prefer a quieter household while she settles in, too many visitors make her nervous. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Hello, I am looking for a home for my almost 2 year old rottweiler he is a really good dog, but unfortunately he just doesn't seem to get a long with my 5 year old he nips at her one of them broke the skin. All of them are related to having an item and her taking it or walking close by. He does not have those issues with me I can take things from him tell him to drop it and he listens and I can take the item and he doesn't have any reaction. My older son also has no issues. Besides these few incidents my 5 year old him can co exist like nothing happened, but I am unable to know what items he will react to its been objects and food that it just doesn't feel safe to have him in our home anymore. Even the smallest nip can cause her big harm. He knows how to sit and give paw. I dont want to see anything bad happen to him because he is a good dog just needs a different environment. On leash he does need a little work with pulling a face harness has worked though and stopped it.
