Story
SEEKING A RESPONSIBLE AND EXPERIENCED ROTTWEILER OWNER FOR THIS CHARMING YOUNG MAN Meet Carlo, an exceptionally handsome nearly two-year-old Rottweiler. Carlo is a smart and eager learner, highly motivated by food and responsive to positive reinforcement training. He is looking for someone who will continue to develop his training and refine what he has already learned. While he occasionally needs reminders not to pull on the leash, he generally walks nicely. Currently, he resides with a female Rottweiler of similar size and gets along well with her. He has interacted with other female dogs of his size, but not all appreciated his playful nature. Interestingly, he is remarkably tolerant of smaller female dogs. Carlo enjoys playing fetch, excels at catching balls or treats, and is making great progress with sitting patiently for his food until given the command to eat. Due to his robust size and enthusiastic greetings, Carlo's best suited for homes with teens or older. He's working on his manners! Ideal adopters will have a fenced backyard (no electric fences, please) and a male dog-free zone—Carlo's not keen on sharing the spotlight with another dude. Apply at www.almosthomeri.org

Story
Brutus's Story Brutus There’s no pre-heating needed to get this guy to warm up to you! Brutus has a sweet disposition and is friendly and affectionate with people right from the start. He’s easygoing, too – 30 minutes after we met him, he curled up and relaxed on the floor while the humans chatted around him. Rescued after being abandoned behind a restaurant, Brutus is estimated to be two to four years old. He is a good-size boy, weighing about 60 pounds, but is gentle and aware of his size. He takes well to being handled and groomed with a brush. Brutus walks nicely on leash and seems to be good around other dogs, showing interest and keeping calm. We’ll learn and share more as we get to know him better. Better yet, please reach out to us and come meet this sweet boy for yourself! Story
Hancho is the total package — a big, handsome boy with a loving heart, a playful spirit, and the kind of loyalty that makes Rottie mixes so special. At 80 pounds, he may look imposing at first glance, but underneath that sturdy frame is a sweet snuggle bug who simply wants to be close to his people.Hancho was originally adopted by his foster mom in 2022 after she completely fell in love with him and decided she couldn’t let him go. Sadly, due to declining health, she is no longer able to care for him, and now this wonderful boy is once again searching for a forever family to love.Hancho has a nice medium energy level. He enjoys running around, playing, and having fun, especially with other dogs of any size, so a playful canine companion would be a dream come true for him. Once he’s gotten his zoomies out, though, he’s all about relaxing beside you for ear scratches, belly rubs, and cuddle time. He has been around children over 5 years old and does very well with them.He can be a little vocal when meeting strangers at first, but it’s all bark. Give him a smile, a kind voice, and a minute to warm up, and you’ll quickly see his affectionate and friendly personality shine through.Hancho is also cat-friendly, house trained, and crate trained. He does best being crated when left home alone since he occasionally forgets which items are actually dog toys. He rides nicely in the car, usually sitting quietly and taking in the scenery, and while he walks well on leash, he can pull a bit at times due to his size and enthusiasm. This smart, loving boy has already experienced being deeply cherished once before, and now he deserves another family who will love him just as much. Hancho is ready to bring joy, laughter, companionship, and cuddles to the lucky people who welcome him home.Name: HanchoBreed: Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever   (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 3-4 years  (estimated)Weight: 79.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    TennesseeIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Ziggy, a 4-year-old Rottweiler mix with a shiny coat, soft eyes, and an even sweeter personality. Ziggy is an easygoing girl who enjoys getting out for walks and spending time with her people. She greets new friends with soft tail wags, bright eyes, and a gentle demeanor that quickly wins people over. Once you`ve earned her affection, don`t be surprised if she leans in close for pets or nudges your hand when you stop - Ziggy is always happy to remind you that she`s not quite finished receiving attention. While toys and chew treats haven`t made much of an impression on her so far, Ziggy has definitely discovered the joy of a good butt scratch and a cozy blanket. If you`re looking for a loyal companion with a kind heart and a talent for making people smile, Ziggy may be the perfect match. If you are interested in adopting Ziggy, please visit the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 12-4 pm during our walk-in hours.
