Story
Bailey Robinson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!  Bailey is a special lady that will slowly and quietly work her way into your heart. Having spent most of her first year living outside with minimal human interaction she is slowly learning that being inside is pretty nice and humans can be too! She needs at least one other dog and a fenced yard. She extremely shy and skittish (flight risk at first), but will open once she builds trust and feels safe, but it will take time. Bailey loves to eat and once comfortable she is extremely food motivated, the quickest way to her heart is peanut butter and freeze dried liver. Once she trusts you she will come to you for pets and love.  She needs a very patient adopter willing to give her the time to adjust and trust, but it is well worth it. She is incredibly sweet. She will benefit from professional training to help her continue to make progress.  Teens and older only, busy kids are too much for her. She'd also prefer a quieter household with a consistent schedule and routine, too many visitors make her nervous. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Meet Kiwi! Kiwi is a smart and eager learner who loves her chew toys (and occasionally thinks your sock belongs to her!), but she redirects easily and is quickly learning the rules. She already knows her name, comes when called, walks nicely on a leash, sits on cue, and understands that “go to bed” means crate time. Kiwi loves everyone she meets (people of all ages are instant friends!) and she’s happiest being held like a baby or curled up in your lap for cuddles. Kiwi has met a few older dogs and shows lovely manners, taking a submissive role and happily playing once everyone is comfortable. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and quick-learning companion, Kiwi may be the perfect match. Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐾

Story
Meet Mango! 🥭 This bright, happy puppy is as sweet as her name and bursting with personality. Mango’s favorite activities include a spirited game of fetch, enthusiastic tug-of-war matches, and soaking up all the love she can get from her people. She’s a clever girl who already knows commands like sit, fetch, and even “time to eat!” She understands “no” and “leave it” (though, like any baby, she sometimes tests the rules with a playful grin). Mango is fully crate trained for bedtime, meals, and when left home alone. She’ll happily tuck herself in with a toy when she needs downtime, but she’s just as content snoozing on the couch or snuggling close to her humans. She’s making fantastic progress with potty training and will sit politely by the door to let you know she needs to go out. On adventures, Mango shines — she walks beautifully on leash, handles doors and elevators like a pro, and greets every person and dog with joyful enthusiasm (and a submissive wiggle that includes offering her belly for rubs). She’s incredibly social and would likely thrive in a home with another dog or with people who are home often and ready to provide the mental stimulation her smart, high-energy brain will need as she grows. This clever pup is a quick learner who already sits by the fridge for an ice cube treat and comes running at the sound of her kibble bag. Like many young puppies, she’s still a bit mouthy and learning that fingers and sleeves aren’t chew toys — but she’s eager to learn and responds well to guidance. Mango is very communicative, “talks back” in the cutest way, and will gently paw you if she thinks playtime ended too soon. She doesn’t yet know her name, so her future family can choose one that fits her perfectly. (Her foster family affectionately calls her “Chicken,” but she’s open to rebranding!) Mango has brought tremendous joy to her foster home, and while they will miss her dearly, they know she’s ready to find the perfect forever family. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, playful companion to grow up alongside you, Mango might be your perfect match. 💛 Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶

Story
Lainey is a high-energy, playful, and affectionate young dog who’s always ready for her next adventure. She is a lively, curious girl who loves to explore the world around her.Lainey is very playful and thrives in an active home. She adores playtime, especially chasing a ball or frisbee, and loves going on long walks. If you're looking for a hiking buddy, look no further! After a fun-filled day, she’s happy to cuddle up and soak in affection. This girl loves her people!Lainey lives with other dogs and does great with them. She is also around an 8 year old and 11 year old kid on a weekly basis and does very well with them. Lainey has not lived with cats, but she was also recently tested with them and seemed to be indifferent. She sniffed them and walked away. A fenced in yard is NOT a requirement for her, but if you do have one under 6ft, it will probably be no match for Lainey. If you plan to utilize a fenced in yard for this active girl, the fence will need to be at least 6ft! This adventurous girl is quite athletic! Lainey walks well on leash (she does pull a little bit sometimes!), and she rides nicely in the car. Lainey is crate trained and knows the command “Kennel Up” (a treat helps!). She sleeps well in her crate all night long and is kenneled when no one is home. As a medium-sized, high-energy dog, she will benefit from consistent training to help channel her enthusiasm into good habits. With the right guidance, exercise, and love, Lainey will be a loyal, fun-loving, and adventurous companion ready to join you on life’s next journey.Name: LaineyBreed: Rottweiler/Lab/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 1.5 years  (estimated)Weight: 42lbsSpayed/Neutered: yesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: We think so. Brutus's Story Brutus There’s no pre-heating needed to get this guy to warm up to you! Brutus has a sweet disposition and is friendly and affectionate with people right from the start. He’s easygoing, too – 30 minutes after we met him, he curled up and relaxed on the floor while the humans chatted around him. Rescued after being abandoned behind a restaurant, Brutus is estimated to be two to four years old. He is a good-size boy, weighing about 60 pounds, but is gentle and aware of his size. He takes well to being handled and groomed with a brush. Brutus walks nicely on leash and seems to be good around other dogs, showing interest and keeping calm. We’ll learn and share more as we get to know him better. Better yet, please reach out to us and come meet this sweet boy for yourself!
