Story
Mongo is a three year old hound mix breed who weighs in at a approximately 45 pounds. Mongo is extremely friendly and likes to play with other dogs and toys and needs someone who wants a buddy for life who wants to be by your side all the time. He is also good with cats. He does know some basic commands, but still needs a little work on some manners. Mongo is neutered as had his shots (will need a booster) and is house broken. He’s also crate trained although he prefers to be with his human of course! We prefer a home with no young children just because he has to warm up at first to new people, and he might accidentally knock a young child over, or be a little much for wee little ones. A fenced yard is preferred so that he can get a lot of his energy out. Help Mongo have a wonderful Christmas and bring him to your forever home! *Mongo is part of our foster to adopt program. For an application, please email us at: muttsandmore@comcast.net

Story
Hi everyone...My name is REX and I am up for ADOPTION aka looking for my forever home through Cross Your Paws Rescue. I'm estimated to be 3 y.o. but my foster mom thinks I am younger. My foster mom did a DNA test and the results are a Heinz 57 mix... I have 22% american pit bull terrier, 17% Treewalker Coonhound,14% Grest Pyrenees, 7% Boxer...I arrived in PA on 10/19/25 weighing in at 47lbs... but I now weigh a healthy 53 lbs. - No accidents in my foster home.- I am super dog friendly and would love a permanent home with a puppy sibling (probably a sibling my size or larger would be best) to continue to show me the ropes. If thats not ideal then I would do great in a house where my family was home a lot with a fenced in yard. I do not require a lot of exercise but I am super happy to walk/hike/explore as well. I have great stamina.- My mom works night shift but so far I am happy to snuggle close and sleep without a peep during the day and night.- I do not like being in a crate away from my family I prefer to snuggle on the bed if allowed.- I love to be as close to my person as I can- I do not beg for food when you are eating but simply lay down at your feet.- I do not jump on anyone but my foster mom when she comes home. She is trying to help me learn that's not ideal even though Im so excited to see her. (My foster sister does it, so I think I should.)- I do not bite.- I did great visiting with a 11 y.o boy in the house and outside while he was running around me.  I am working on...- learning on my basic commands - (UPDATE- for some reason I do not like to sit on command, it appears to make me nervous).- learning no one (especially the men) wants to hurt me. (UPDATE- I love my foster dad and lay/sleep beside him, when mom is not home, but if he goes to pet my head I'm still scared)- learning car rides can be for fun things (UPDATE- I love going on rides but I require a seat belt to keep me inside when the windows are open)- learning the feral cats/wildlife are not allowed to be chased (UPDATE- when my mom tells me to leave it - I do not chase the outside cats)- learning on my recall... but my tree walker coonhound nose makes me want to get on a trail and not use my ears the best.  (UPDATE- I am working on off leash in my yard and on hikes and doing well!) We will continue to update Rex and all the good things he is learning... please SHARE to help him find his home! ##2546643##

Story
Meet Ray – A Brave Soul with a Heart Full of Love Ray is a 3-year-old Boxer with a gentle spirit and an unbreakable heart. Though he’s blind, Ray doesn’t let that stop him from living life with love and courage. His Story: Ray was found wandering the streets alone, starving and completely blind. We can only imagine how frightening it must have been for him to survive without being able to see. Despite being thin, anemic, and exhausted, Ray still greeted rescuers with kindness and trust — proof of his incredible spirit. Medical Notes: Thanks to many generous donors, Ray received a full eye evaluation and was diagnosed with Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). This condition means he has lost nearly all of his vision and can only detect faint shadows or changes in light. While there’s no treatment to restore his sight, daily supplements can help preserve what little vision he has left. Personality; Ray has shown amazing resilience. In just a few short weeks, he’s learned the layout of the shelter and continues to grow more confident every day. His playful, silly side shines through as he learns to trust and navigate his world. Ray enjoys gentle affection, soft voices, and his favorite toys. Once he bonds with you, he’ll reward your patience with unwavering loyalty and love. Home Needs: Ray may do well with calm, friendly dogs (meet and greets are always required). We’re not sure how he feels about cats, but with slow introductions, it may be possible. He would thrive in a quieter, adult-only home with a patient family willing to guide him and give him the safe, stable life he’s been waiting for. Could You Be His Match? Ray has been through so much, yet his heart remains open. He’s ready for a soft place to land and a family who will see him for the brave, gentle boy he truly is.

Story
Gonzo is a stunning, exuberant, lively young boxer mix who is ready for a new family to call his own. Unfortunately, he is in this position due to an unforeseen health issue with his previous owner. Gonzo is extremely friendly, loving, sweet, and extroverted. He thrives around people and loves to spend quality time with his human companions. As a 1-year-old dog, he is very energetic and excitable, and has high enthusiasm when he receives attention from people or other dogs. He is still learning how to control his body and reign in his excitement and would benefit from some training as well as lots of exercise! He loves being outside, playing outside, and getting multiple walks a day. In addition, Gonzo is quite strong and still needs quite a bit of leash walk training. However, he is coachable, very attentive, and listens well. He already knows several basic commands and is very responsive to vocal cues. Gonzo loves everyone, including other dogs and is compatible with kids as well. He also previously coexisted very successfully with an adult who had special needs. Gonzo is a ball of life, joy, and excitement and he is ready to bring a lot of fun to a new lucky family. Do you think you can provide Gonzo with a forever home? If so, please reach out and contact Four Footed Friends at (724) 349-1144 or dogmanager@fourfootedfriends.org. You can also visit https://www.fourfootedfriends.org/ for more information on our organization and other pets we have available for adoption.
