Meet Hobi, the embodiment of joy and adventure wrapped into one bold, energetic, 65-pound bundle. At the shelter, Hobi has become known for his friendly demeanor and insatiable curiosity. He`s always the first to greet visitors with a wagging tail and an eager jump, showcasing his strong, confident nature. Despite his excitement, Hobi is also incredibly cuddly and loves to snuggle up after a day full of activities. His bravery, and stubborn streak make him a loyal companion who`s always ready to explore new horizons. He blazes ahead on a leash, expecting you to follow. He might be house trained but please give him time to adjust to a new home. Hobi`s friendly nature makes him a hit with teenagers. Although he tends to bark at cats, he`s incredibly playful with other dogs and wants to interact with every dog that catches his eye. Howdy, They call me Big Papa, I guess cuz I'm big and old. LOL A nice person found me and brought me to Lucies. I weak, emaciated, exhausted and in ALOT of pain. I collapsed in the road and had to be sedated just to get me in the park. :( The handlers there were so kind and caring with me. They nursed me bit by and got me well enough to get to the vet where I was immediately taken in and taken care of. It was a crucial time, as no one thought I would make it. Well I did!! And all thanks to the kind people who took care of me. I'm happy and healthy now, even though I'm a tad on the older side. I still got spunk, but boy does it wear me out!! I like to spend my time on the porch on a blanket with my volunteer gals and of course my friend KJ...she keeps me in line and out of trouble, most of the time. I'm looking for my forever person to just chill out with for the rest of my days. Just hang out on the couch and be potatoes. You know binge watching whatever you like. This gentle Rottie mama came to us after being left behind at BARC when another rescue took her puppy but not her. We couldn’t let that be the end of her story. From the moment we met her, her calm, loving spirit won us over. Ceylon is wonderful with other dogs, confident and loyal — exactly what you’d expect from her breed. She’s well-mannered, keeps her kennel clean, and loves soft affection (and treats!). She’s about 5 years old and would thrive in a home where she can finally relax and be someone’s cherished companion. She is heartworm positive, which is common here, but she’s already in treatment, will be just fine, and it’s not contagious to pets or people. This girl deserves a home, not a kennel. Raine’s story started in the middle of the recent floods, where she was found lost and alone. Despite being abandoned during a scary time, Raine has proven to be an absolute social butterfly with a soul as sweet as honey.The Lowdown on Raine:Cat Approved: This is the big one! Raine is super social and already has a feline fan club (her friend Brody the cat is a big fan). They’ve even started playing together!Crate Queen: She’s a dream at night. She slept perfectly in her crate throughout her first night in foster care.Social & Sweet: She is a "people dog" through and through. She loves her morning walks and is eager to greet the world with a wagging tail.The "Scary Stuff": Because of what she’s been through, Raine is terrified of gunshots and loud, sudden bangs. She will need a family that can offer her a safe "thunder-den" and comfort during storms or fireworks.What She Needs:A Secure Fenced Yard: This is a must. Because she panics with loud noises, a secure perimeter is essential to keep her safe and sound.Basic Training: She’s a "diamond in the rough."
