Story
For weeks… this boy was just there. Living on a construction site.Walking through wet concrete pours.Surviving on scraps.Trying to exist where he didn’t belong. The crews did what they could — hosing concrete off him, watching out for him — but he never left. And with a hard freeze coming, it became clear… he wasn’t going to survive much longer out there. So a promise was made:If he was still there, he was coming home. He was painfully thin. Exhausted. Dirty. Clearly injured. But gentle. Trusting. And grateful beyond words. He’s now safe and being lovingly fostered by the very person who refused to look away. This amazing Good Samaritan has committed to fostering and has already seen what a truly special dog he is — great with their family, gentle with kids, and respectful around cats. He appears to be a young adult (around 3–4 years old), not neutered, and likely full Rottweiler. One leg/foot appears injured, and there were signs of trauma from life on the streets. After a much-needed bath, there’s still concrete stuck in his fur — a reminder of the months he spent surviving on a job site. Despite everything, he shows no food aggression, has a calm temperament, and the kind of soulful eyes that stop you in your tracks. With warmth, food, and safety, his spirit is already starting to come back. He has a full vet appointment scheduled for Thursday, where we’ll get answers, imaging if needed, and a plan to help him heal. We are asking for help to cover his upcoming medical care. Donations will go directly toward his exam, diagnostics, treatment, and recovery. If you’re able to donate, share, or send good thoughts his way — it all matters.Because sometimes the dogs who survived the hardest beginnings become the very best companions. Thank you for being part of his second chance. ##2647143##

Story
Howdy, They call me Big Papa, I guess cuz I'm big and old. LOL A nice person found me and brought me to Lucies. I weak, emaciated, exhausted and in ALOT of pain. I collapsed in the road and had to be sedated just to get me in the park. :( The handlers there were so kind and caring with me. They nursed me bit by and got me well enough to get to the vet where I was immediately taken in and taken care of. It was a crucial time, as no one thought I would make it. Well I did!! And all thanks to the kind people who took care of me. I'm happy and healthy now, even though I'm a tad on the older side. I still got spunk, but boy does it wear me out!! I like to spend my time on the porch on a blanket with my volunteer gals and of course my friend KJ...she keeps me in line and out of trouble, most of the time. I'm looking for my forever person to just chill out with for the rest of my days. Just hang out on the couch and be potatoes. You know binge watching whatever you like. I'd like for it to be you!December 30, 2025, 10:22 am

Story
This gentle Rottie mama came to us after being left behind at BARC when another rescue took her puppy but not her. We couldn’t let that be the end of her story. From the moment we met her, her calm, loving spirit won us over. Ceylon is wonderful with other dogs, confident and loyal — exactly what you’d expect from her breed. She’s well-mannered, keeps her kennel clean, and loves soft affection (and treats!). She’s about 5 years old and would thrive in a home where she can finally relax and be someone’s cherished companion. She is heartworm positive, which is common here, but she’s already in treatment, will be just fine, and it’s not contagious to pets or people. This girl deserves a home, not a kennel. If you’ve ever considered adopting, Ceylon will make it worth your while. Learn more at www.scoutshonor.org .January 26, 2026, 2:08 pm
