Story
Hi, my name is Cubs and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Mar 20, 2024. Everyone calls me a “Goofball,” I’m not sure what that means but I know it has the word “ball” in it! Bringing a smile to my person’s face is what I do best and I’m ready to make every day as fun as I can. I think I’m the happy, funny pup for you!

Story
Hank needs an experienced Rottweiler owner with no other dogs or only female dogs. He is collar and leash reactive but has been going to training to have better manners. He is wary around his food bowl and does not like anyone near him or watching him eat. He is great with taking treats from hand and very gentle. My male Rottweiler does not get along with Hank but Hank is great with my female Rottweiler. He needs an owner that will set expectations and be firm and loving not just loving. The behaviorist that evaluated him said firm ownership and ongoing training is necessary. He has made such great improvements with training in just 6 weeks and is starting to trust again. I believe he was not well treated before so trust needs to be earned. He has growled at me and gives fair warnings that he is uncomfortable in certain situations. Recommend no young children. He loves to play ball and drops it for you. He knows many commands. He is very clever and sweet but wary.

Story
This big lug of a guy is very sweet and is working so hard on his manners and learning boundries. He is very willing to learn, and oh SO smart, but a little stubborn too. Copper has a high drive, and alot of energy, so needs a home that has a large space for him. Copper would do best in an only dog home, with a strong leader that is willing to put in some training time, to help Copper be the companion dog he is capable of. Copper is crate trained for night-time and does not test fencing, however, he can be a digger. Not cat or poultry friendly. Copper is eligible for a obedience course with Stacey Bryan at Fly n Bee Farms in Seabeck. Copper has a suspect cranial cruciate ligament injury and is a medical case, he is on pain management medication and has no restrictions at this time. Embark came back as 50% Rottweiler, Doberman, and Redbone Coonhound, a fortified supermutt!

MORE INFO COMING SOON! I'm entering the Freedom Tails program and plan to graduate on July 3, 2024! pawsgh.org/freedomtailsHi there, I'm River, the goofiest pup around! Used to live by the river, hence the name. I ended up here at the shelter after chasing a squirrel, ended up in a doggy marathon, and couldn't find my way back! My love for pup cups is legendary, I can sniff them out from a mile away. I'm as sweet as they come, always ready for a cuddle and a game of chase! My jokes? Well, they're a bit ruff, but I guarantee they'll have you howling with laughter. I'm looking for a forever home where I can spread my joy and endless love. Adopt me, and let's create our own hilarious tales together!4/25/24I’ll never forget the day I was abandoned by the river. I was scared and alone, with no food or shelter. I had to fend for myself, searching for scraps and avoiding danger. But despite the hardships, I held onto hope that things would get better. One day, they did. One day I was caught and taken to a place I had never imagined - prison! At first I was terrified, the loud noises and stern faces were overwhelming. But as the days passed, I realized this place was different. The people here are kind and gentle; they gave me food and attention. They even let me sleep inside. I felt warm and cozy. I began to feel a sense of belonging, I felt happy! Now I spend my days playing with other dogs and getting endless belly rubs. The inmates tell me what a good boy I am. I can sense their own struggle and hardships, but despite our pasts we have found Joy and purpose in each other's company. I may have started my journey by a river and that's where I get my name, but I’m forever grateful for this new home and can’t wait to finally find my forever home. Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org
