Hi, my name is Cubs and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Mar 20, 2024. Everyone calls me a “Goofball,” I’m not sure what that means but I know it has the word “ball” in it! Bringing a smile to my person’s face is what I do best and I’m ready to make every day as fun as I can. I think I’m the happy, funny pup for you!

Story
Hank needs an experienced Rottweiler owner with no other dogs or only female dogs. He has been collar and leash reactive but has been going to training to have better manners and is getting better. He does not like anyone near him or watching him eat. He takes treats from hand gently. My male Rottweiler does not get along with Hank but Hank is great with my female Rottweiler. He needs an owner who will set expectations and be firm and loving not just loving. The behaviorist who evaluated him said firm ownership and ongoing training are necessary. He has made great improvements with training in the 6 weeks I have had him and is starting to trust again. I believe he was not well treated before so his trust needs to be earned. He gives not subtle and fair warnings that he is uncomfortable in certain situations. Recommend no young children. He loves to play ball and drops it for you. He knows many commands. He is very clever and sweet but wary.

Story
This big lug of a guy is very sweet and is working so hard on his manners and learning boundries. He is very willing to learn, and oh SO smart, but a little stubborn too. Copper has a high drive, and alot of energy, so needs a home that has a large space for him. Copper would do best in an only dog home, with a strong leader that is willing to put in some training time, to help Copper be the companion dog he is capable of. Copper is crate trained for night-time and does not test fencing, however, he can be a digger. Not cat or poultry friendly. Copper is eligible for a obedience course with Stacey Bryan at Fly n Bee Farms in Seabeck. Copper has a suspect cranial cruciate ligament injury and is a medical case, he is on pain management medication and has no restrictions at this time. Embark came back as 50% Rottweiler, Doberman, and Redbone Coonhound, a fortified supermutt!

Story
Hi! My name is Chappo and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on April 18th, 2024.I am considered a `large breed` dog.I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home once I fully get to know you. I`m a shy guy who tends to take my cues from the world around me, but I really do like my people and am all wiggles once you become my best friend. My caregivers have noticed that I seem to do well with other large dogs. I actually came in with my bestest buddy Julius (A706950) He`s the more open one but that helps me to know that the world isn`t that scary. So having another dog at home would actually be really good for me. Just remember that although I have had experience with another dog, when meeting dogs in a new home, it is always best to do a slow introduction. With a slow introduction my new friend and I can be our best selves moving forward together.Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home. `Revolving Door` policies isn`t something that would work for me. I`m the kind of pup that would like to get to know everyone before they come into my house as that can be very scary for me.I will need to find a home where someone is available for me in these early days. It is important to be consistent with me and socialize me so I can have the best companionship with people and other animals. Animals require patience because everything is brand new so I will need some TLC while I learn. If you and your family are ready to fall in love my awesome self, please check me out!!My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

Story
Three-year old Justice is an extremely loving and loyal pup, who is hungry for love and longing for an adopter to bond with. Justice is extremely smart and soulful. He is very obedient and eager to please. He is great with commands. He is also very intelligent and very low maintenance. He prefers laying at your feet or sitting with you more than anything. When he’s active, Justice loves playing fetch, his favorite game! Justice is good with both dogs and cats. Actually, he has had many dog and cat foster siblings and has always gotten along with all of them. We do not know how he is with kids, as he never lived with one. Justice weighs 75 lbs, and is fully vaccinated for 3 years, neutered, and microchipped. Justice has completed 6 months of board and train. To meet this lovely boy, please send an application via savesomesouls.com or email savesomesoulsrescue@gmail.com

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 65#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCs This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
