HI - I'M MILLIE! And I'm truly a miracle dog! I had reportedly been roaming in an empty field in the high desert of California for over a month. When I was finally caught, I had heat stroke, and my temperature was so high that the shelter's thermometer couldn't even read it. But after some tender loving care, I cooled down to a normal temperature. I had fought for my life, and I made a full recovery. I'm truly the perfect dog. I'm sweet, loving and smart. I regularly gave the shelter staff my paws to show them my gratitude. I was pretty well housetrained in the shelter. I love other dogs, even those that jump all over me. I'm a 5-year-old Boxer mix who deserves the very best home. Can you foster or adopt me? I'm currently in California, but can be transported to you in Olympia!

He will be a medium to large dog as an adult. Rubble, his mom (45 lb) and littermates were found running down access road of a highway when they were 5 weeks old. Everyone in litter and mom died of Distemper (due to owner not giving them shots). Rubble is the sole survivor. He will be special needs throughout his life. He is a very special puppy that has tons of love to give and loves all humans, children, playing with other polite /low energy dogs, playing with toys and visiting with volunteers/staff getting chicken /treats. Did we say he LOVES his humans? When he plays and does his walk abouts you do not see any affects of distemper. He is crate trained, walks on a leash and loves car rides. He will benefit from some continued obediance training and public socialization with new environmental objects. He will play, then will hang out on the couch or your lap. He requires an owned home with a securely fenced yard in a colder climate as the hot TX temperature is not conducive to his health. He is looking for a special needs mixed breed dog experienced family. He will do best with another dog companion and someone that works from home or caregiver (female) is home. No apartments. Great with older kids but will run over littles. Olive is so sweet with her people. She loves intensely and will share all of your blanket. She will eat soft toys like stuffies and ropes. He spends most of his days outdoors, keeping watch over the yard, but he loves nothing more than being inside with his people whenever he can. Abe has a natural prey drive for small wildlife (like squirrels or raccoons that wander into the yard), which makes him a great protector of the home and property. With humans, Abe has always been nothing but gentle and loving — he has never shown aggression toward people or had any biting incidents.
