Story
This sweet girl is ready to steal hearts and hit the trails. Sheba is a 39-pound Shar-Pei with soft fur, warm eyes, and the kind of easygoing personality that makes her a true 'turn-key' companion. On leash, Sheba is a dream — she walks politely without pulling, so she's a joy to take on hikes or neighborhood strolls. She already knows her basic commands, takes treats with the gentlest mouth you'll ever feel, and settles right into car rides like she's done it a hundred times. Sheba is incredibly social — she loves playing with other dogs and warms up to new people instantly, no slow introductions needed. She'd thrive with an active family who wants an adventure buddy, or in a home with a fellow dog to romp around with. She's spayed, microchipped, and fully up to date on vaccines — ready to go home and start her next chapter. If you're looking for a low-drama, high-love companion who's ready to hit the ground running, Sheba might just be your perfect match! She is fostering in the Santa Maria, CA area.October 13, 2026, 9:36 pm

Story
Camilla is a gorgeous cream shar-pei mix and this girl landed in the shelter after being abandoned in an RV with other dogs. Cami has lived with other dogs, but we've found she would do best as an only dog or a with neutral or submissive male dogs. She is very good with people, and apparently has seen the world (or maybe US) by car/travel. Camilla is about 4 years old, is spayed and had entropion eyelid surgery and has all her vaccines and a microchip. She is about 45 pounds. She is fostering in the San Francisco area and we will post more as we learn it.October 13, 2026, 9:36 pm

Story
This guy is uber adorable! With those silly ears and that squishy jowl, he is almost irresistible! Shrimp is a super sweet boy who loves to give kisses and have all the fun! He is young and active and loves to play. He would make a great adventure partner as he loves to hike and swim and is an extremely smart boy. He is treat motivated and loves to learn and is looking for a new best friend to take on the world with. He absolutely loves all toys and swimming! Shrimp is a very active dog and loves long walks, he would benefit from an active family. Shrimp would greatly benefit from training since he does pull in the leash and is strong. He would enjoy agility training and maybe dock diving. Shrimp is not recommended to be housed with kids or cats due to a high prey drive. He has met dogs on and off leash and did okay but small dogs are not recommended. He has attempt to go after a trainers dog but was corrected and listened. Supervision is recommended for meeting others dogs. Shrimp is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. If you’re interested in meeting Shrimp please fill out an application and a volunteer will reach out within one business day. Betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
This handsome sweetheart lets you know he's happy and relaxed by unwinding his adorable tail, and lately, he's been a happy guy. Teddy is about 54lbs (and needs to gain a few more). He loves a game of fetch and gets the zoomies sometimes before he's ready for a cuddle break. He loves to go out on walks and has done well on leash. He's a playful, dog- and people-friendly pup and eager to jump in the car for an adventure. He'd be happy to stay home to play with toys, too. He's been charming volunteers with his sweet nature while he recovers from some procedures to improve his hearing and vision. Teddy will need time to adjust to rescued life, and may need support with house-training. Come meet him and be the reason his tail unwinds! (AM)

Story
* Energetic, playful, and full of life* Loves toys, sunbathing, and naps* House-trainedCappy is currently in foster, and here`s what his fosters say about him:Cappy is proof that not all seniors read the script. At 8, he is energetic, playful, and engaged in life. He is ready for a home that is truly his.He loves his enrichment toys, from lick pads to squeaky balls and anything that makes noise. He`ll bring you a stuffy to play with and handles stairs up and down without a second thought. Sunbathing is a core personality trait. So are long, luxurious naps after a good outing. He is the dog that makes you feel like you`ve earned your couch time too.Cappy is fully house-trained and will let you know when it`s time to go out, so there`s no guessing and no accidents. He is also working on his leash manners and making good progress. The right home for Cappy is one with no small animals and someone who sees a dog that still has a lot of life in him and wants to share it. He`ll reward that person with loyalty, silliness, and a permanent warm spot on the couch.
