HEMINGWAY (aka Jax): The Basics: What a stunning boy this 11 month old boy is. He is a purebred horsecoat and is smaller in stature. He is housetrained, fully vetted, neutered. Good with kids and dogs, cats are unknown. He is still in puppy mode at his young age. The Good Stuff: He has been in professional training and has learned much in terms of basic commands and overall mannerly behaviour. He does run out the front door. But, the trainer is addressing that. He loves kids. He is playful so tinier kids might not be best. He is super sweet. Loves to snuggle. What you or the family is doing is what he wants to do! He is very protective of his home. He will be on alert. He is working on socialization. He is still Leary of new people. His Best Home: A person or family that is active and will include Hemingway in this activity. Someone(s) whom will be dedicated to continuing training him. A fenced yard would be best but, if truly active not a total must. Hemingway is beautiful and just a wonderful young Shar-Pei that would make a great family member to an active and moving home. She can see just fine but needs a minor surgery to repair her eyes which our veterinarian will do. She is around a year old and looks like a Doberman / Sharpei mix. Lucy is very sweet, playful and good with dogs. She’s young and excited about her new lease on life. Hi! My name is Penny Peabody! My mama was rescued by Big Dog Ranch & Rescue, and I was born here. I was adopted as a puppy, but my person became allergic to me so here I am again but now bigger and over 3 yrs old. Being back at the Ranch is scary cuz I spent so long in a home. I need a person to be calm & patient with me while I readjust to a (hopefully chill) home. I'm still young, but not hyper. I do like playing with toys & in water so please have toys & good chewies for me! I like gentle and calm dogs best, and even "THOSE" cats. Respecting my space is necessary since I am nervous in new environments. I'm a bit scared of the leash too, so I need help with leash walking confidence. There really IS a Lovebug hiding beneath my nervous exterior. I dream that special someone will see me and help me remember what it's like to be somebody's precious dog! Maybe YOU are that "paw"son! My name is Butta Scoop. Im about months old. My guy named me cause he rescued me one nite when he went to the grocer to Pick up some butter. My girls named me Scoop, cause they say I;m nosy and persistent Like a reporter investigating a story. I like my peeps and they like and treat me well. But my guy is allergic to me and has to walk around with a mask on a lot of the time. My girls say “me strong, like bull” and a bit too physical for them (whimps). But all in all, I do shed, and I am a high energy pup. I’m a lover who likes to cuddle and I can get a bit pushy about “me time” with you. My favorite treats are apples, carrots, ice cubes and any human food I can manage to sneak and get my chompers on. My favorite specialty treats (my girl gets them at Marshalls & TJ Maxx) are Butcher Shop Select Chews Chicken Fillets and Blue Nudges Grillers (chicken or steak). I love ear and chest rubs. Like to sit at your feet and lay bedside at night.
