STATEN ISLAND, NY: Handsome, good-boy Koda is on a mission to find his forever home, where he can shower his family with affection and snuggle up for pets! Charming Koda is 3 years young and weighs 70 lbs. He was known as Newark in the shelter, but has been lovingly dubbed Koda with his foster. He is affectionate and loves being touched, pet, rubbed, scratched – and is always ready to snuggle! Sadly, he was found as a stray wandering alone on Staten Island before arriving at the city shelter. AmsterDog was able to pull him to safety thanks to his foster, who fell in love with his gorgeous smile and deep, beautiful eyes (he has that effect on people!). Koda has been such a good boy while decompressing, and wow, is he thankful for some cozy blankets and a bed. He has been through a lot so decompression and slow, proper introductions are crucial for this boy’s success. Koda was dog-tested at the shelter and he did well, even going for a walk alongside another dog just fine. He was also around a cat briefly with his original finder and was non-reactive. Koda has been going on lots of adventures with his foster - check out our social media for some videos of Koda, his progress, and even catching some waves at the beach! Our veterinary partner estimates that Bebe is 1 years old at the time of intake in September 2024, so he would be about 2 years old as of August 2025. Bebe is good with people and other dogs. He can be very active, giving lots of kisses and jumping around. He can also be very sweet and cuddly. He is not a fan of water.Bebe was found neglected on the streets, attacked by other dogs, trying to survive the best he could. Bebe's foster mom reports that he is settling in well and learning how to be a dog from his siblings. He is a playful boy and does love his toys and chews.
