Slowly walked out, and walked nicely next to me. We walked through the building and he was cautious passing people and would slow down a little. Sociability: Came over and allowed gentle pets and gave low swaying tail wags with ears to the side and soft eyes. Play: n/a Dog Interaction: Met Skittle. Did some nice parallel walking sniffed and went off doing their own thing. Return to Kennel: Walked right into kennel without issue. Color Level: Exp Gold Per staff 1/14: “Staff was attempting to take out to clean kennel. Finny retreated to the corner of the kennel sitting on the bed with tense eyes, ears forward and gave a paw lift. Staff tried to lasso but Finny was dodging. Did a shake off when the leash touched him. I tossed a treat in and he ate it. Handed the staff member some pepperoni and he was able to treat lure to leash.” Per staff 1/13: “Went out to take a picture and attempt to scan the dog. While in the car, he growled, had a stiff body, stared intensely, and bared his teeth at staff. We asked the finder to leash the dog inside the car because we observed how quickly the dog's behavior changed with the finder, he immediately started wagging his tail very fast, had a loose body, and soft eyes. The finder leashed the dog, and he exited the car without issue. The staff member was then able to walk the dog straight to a kennel” Per finder: “Temperamental with strangers. Friendly, shy, scared and playful.” Videos: Finney & Skittle meet: https://youtube.com/shorts/pkpG8TE_hxI?si=50s9nac8YB-GPMC3 ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Story
Tank is a nearly 7-month-old pup (born May 29, 2025) who already weighs 53 lbs—and he’s just getting started. We believe he’s a Shar Pei / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and he’s expected to grow into a big, handsome guy around 80–90 lbs. For his size, Tank is actually pretty calm, but don’t be fooled—he’s still very much a puppy. Tank was surrendered by his owners by no fault of his own. He’s super sweet, affectionate, and social, but he’s also strong and a little mouthy, which means he’ll need a home committed to ongoing training, structure, and consistency. With his future size, good manners will be essential. Tank does well with other dogs, can be cat tested, and would be best with older children, as he may be a bit too much for the littlest family members. If you’re ready to invest time in training a big puppy who has all the potential to become an amazing adult dog, Tank is ready to grow up with you. Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052.

Story
Tucker is a young, male Boxer mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart for the people he trusts. He’s social and eager on approach, easy to leash, and loves getting out of his kennel to explore. Tucker enjoys body handling and affection, though he can be easily distracted—there’s just so much going on in the world that catches his attention!Tucker is playful and energetic, especially when toys are involved. He has no issues with food or toy guarding and is happy to share space with people while eating. Squeaky toys are his favorite, and he enjoys interactive play with his handler. When it comes to new situations or unfamiliar people, Tucker can be unsure. He may bark or appear tense at first, especially if something looks or feels unusual, but with patience, calm handling, and positive reinforcement (treats help!), he is able to settle and build trust. Once he feels safe, his curiosity shines through.Tucker will need an experienced, adult-only home committed to continuing his behavior modification work. He is highly reactive to other dogs and must be the only pet in the home—no dogs and no cats. He would do best with adopters who understand fear-based reactivity and are willing to work with a professional trainer to help him feel more confident and secure.**Tucker’s Ideal Home:*** Adults only (no children)* No other dogs or cats* Experienced, patient adopters* Commitment to training and behavior support* A calm, structured environmentWith the right guidance and consistency, Tucker has the potential to be a deeply loyal companion who bonds strongly with his people. If you’re looking for a dog to invest time, understanding, and heart into—and you believe in second chances—Tucker may be your guy.Ask us about Tucker today and see if you’re the match he’s been waiting for.To complete adoption questionnaire: https://hamiltonmcnj.seamlessdocs.com/f/AdoptionApplicationTo see other available animals: https://www.hamiltonnj.com/173/Pets-Available-for-AdoptionHamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet.
