Story
Meet Lexus. She came in to the shelter after being hit by a car and her owners never came to get her. She is shy but once she trusts you she is a love. Unfortunately, we think as a result of being hit by the car her tail was damaged. Originally it was thought she would need her tail amputated but the body is truly amazing. Lexus is slowly regaining movement in her tail!! She will be given more time to heal, the potential adopter should be aware that in the future it may be an issue, but we think her body deserves a chance. We are looking for a home with no small children, but she is dog friendly. Are you ready to step up where her owners didn’t and help this lady out of the shelter??

Story
Meet Allie! Our vet estimates her to be 8yrs old and she has been spayed. Allie weighs about 50lbs.  We wanted the vet to check her right eye since it presents somewhat smaller than the left eye. The vet agreed that it was most likely trauma from goodness knows how long ago. Upon testing, she does have limited sight in that eye but nothing that really effects her.  She has gone through and recovered from much needed FHO surgery since she had some old trauma to her right rear leg as well as treatment for Lyme.  She absolutely adores attention from people so we think she didn't have much in her past :( She walks fine on a leash and is housetrained. Occasionally you'll see her with a toy but it's not a standard thing for her. The foster she is with is certain that right now, she is the most grateful dog in the house - her sighs of contentment while getting a belly rub for no reason says it all.  While she currently lives with other dogs in fostercare, it took us months for her to accept and trust them. But with slow & steady crate rotations, introductions & limited interactions, she has become part of the pack.  She should not be in a home with cats though is our gut feeling.  Check out our site for an application to make Allie a part of your family and FaceBook for adoption event details. (www.endingthesadness.org) Our adoption fee is $325 and all of our pets come with full vet records. All animals are up to date on vaccinations & dewormed. Please keep in mind we are a Rescue Group and most of our pups come to us with little or no background info regarding breed, eventual size, age or prior health issues. We rely on the expertise of our veterinarians and make estimates based on past experience. Also, when you're adopting from a Rescue, you should ask questions! You should always get shot/medication records and the rescue should have had the dog for a bit of time to check for disease. Take the time to educate yourself before adopting. A reputable rescue will have nothing to hide and will answer ALL your questions!!! Please visit our Web Site to see all of the pets we have for adoption. Our site contains information about our adoption process and fees, our application, and answers to frequently asked questions. Please read it carefully before contacting us. If you are interested in adopting THIS wonderful pet, we strongly encourage you to complete our adoption application now. Once we receive and approve your application, we will notify you of approval. The first application to be received and approved will get 1st choice - be sure that your references are available and willing to speak with us. Thank You Visit us at one of our next adoption days. Details are on our site under the How to Adopt tab. Hope to see you there!July 17, 2026, 12:20 am

Story
Meet Damion! 🤎 This handsome 9-month-old Boxer has the most soulful amber eyes and a personality that’s impossible not to love. Damion is a total people dog who wants to be included in everything you do. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, he’s ready to fill that role! He enjoys playing, but if he had to choose, he’d much rather be curled up next to his favorite humans. He’s a true Velcro pup who will happily follow you from room to room, and bedtime is even better if he gets to sleep beside his people. Damion does well with kids and other dogs. He has not been cat tested. He’s crate trained, doing well with house training, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. If your idea of the perfect dog is one who’s always by your side, ready for an adventure or a cozy night on the couch, Damion is waiting to meet you. Could this sweet boy be your perfect match? 🐾❤️

Meet Paisley! Paisley is a 3 year old Boxer mix with a sweet, gentle personality and just the right mix of playful and laid back. She loves going for walks, playing with toys, and hopping in the car for adventures, but shes also perfectly happy snuggled up beside her people at the end of the day. Shes such a funny girl with lots of personality especially when she starts dancing for treats or toys! Paisley loves making her humans laugh and always wants to be included in whatever is going on around her. Paisley does great with kids and other dogs, but she does like to chase cats, so a feline-free home would be best for her. Shes crate trained, mostly house trained, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family
