Meet Butterscotch! He is a two year old Sharpei/Staff terrier mix. Butterscotch is an ACC survivor and deserves nothing but the best. He is a loving, affectionate boy who is great with everyone he meets.  Loves playing with other dogs, playing in the yard or even taking a dip in the kiddie pool.  Butterscotch was abandoned on the streets, and for all he endured he is truly the sweetest most loving boy.  Crate trained, housebroken, happy go lucky fella waiting for his forever family....don't miss out on this very special boy!!  Good with dogs ad cats but of course we require a meet and greet. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application IN FULL!!!   https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##2067391##

Story
Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. If you have the heart, home and time for this sweet girl, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or go to our FB page or call the number listed below. Story
Come see Mikey Mike at The River Lane, 7 Main Street, Essex, CT on June 28th and 29th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF OUR DOGS PLEASE APPLY ONLINE IMMEDIATELY. See www.godogdays.org for details. Here is more information about me: GENERAL BEHAVIOR AND IDEAL HOME: Most rescues will not adopt out dogs, including puppies, to families with children under the age of 6 years old. Rescues will not allow dogs or puppies to go to homes where they will be crated during the full work day. The rescue has noticed this dog is generally good with dogs. However dogs, like people, act differently in different settings and a new adopter should expect there will be an adjustment period of time before before the dog settles in to a new home. At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. GENERAL VETERINARY CARE: I have been ~ spayed/neutered ~ microchipped ~ dewormed ~ heartworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older) ~ up to date on all age appropriate shots ~ treated with a flea preventative ADOPTION FEES Rescues participating in our events are not allowed to charge more than $450 an adoption fee and some adoption fees are much less - it depends on what the rescue chooses to charge - Dog Days does not take any portion of the adoption fees. ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM: https://redletterbusiness.wufoo.com/forms/find-my-new-best-friend/ (Copy and paste to browser.) ADOPTION PROCESS - Before the Event If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. Thank you for saving the life of a shelter dog through adoption; you are truly a hero. -- A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. -- If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. -- If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption weekend. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time. ADOPTION PROCESS - During the Event Weekend -- Plan on spending at least three to four hours going through the adoption process. We want you to be completely confident in your new pal so we will ask you to speak to a trainer, a veterinarian as well as interview with a member of our adoption team and the rescue. -- As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. -- PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE. -- At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. Each dog and puppy has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian who will also be on site to answer any questions you may have. We'll have professional groomers on site to give your new pal a bath before you take them home (no charge) and our adoption bags will give you information and samples for use at home. See www.godogdays.org for details.

Story
Hello, future best friend, I’m Hugo! I’m a 4-year-old AMbully with a heart of gold, but my brain sometimes overthinks. 🧠✨ I’m not your typical dog—I take a little time to warm up to new people, but once I trust you, you’ll be in for a wild ride of goofiness and fun. We like to call it the Hugo Show! 🎬 I’m all about silly antics that will keep you laughing for hours! I’m great with older kids and cats—so if you’ve got a family, I’ll fit right in and make us all smile. 😸👦 But here’s the deal: I’m a little wary of strangers at first. One day, a new person hurt me very badly, so I'm slow to trust because I worry it will happen again. The nice people here say it won't... so they help me make lots of new friends. I just need some time and patience to get to know you before I can give you my heart (which, by the way, is HUGE). ❤️ Once we’ve built that bond, you’ll see the real me: a playful, goofy guy who LOVES to have fun. I can be a little much for some dogs (I have a lot of energy), so if you have other dogs, they need to be able to handle my playful nature and keep up with the fun. 🐾 If you’re patient, kind, and ready to build a connection, I promise to your ride or die. Let’s start this journey together, and I promise you’ll love every moment of the Hugo Show! 💫

Story
Hi, my name is Pebbles, and I know we just met, but I love you! ❤️ I’m a 6-year-old Pebblepotamus (that’s an Exotic Bully + a hippopotamus in spirit) with a heart as big as the ocean, and a love for life that’s just as expansive. I’m a professional love bug, and I specialize in giving the most loving kisses you’ve ever received. You can’t imagine how much joy it brings me to cover you in sweet puppy love. I also have some serious skills— I’ve mastered the art of the pitiful puppy dog eyes, which I use to get all the attention I deserve. (Don’t worry, I’m worth it!) 😘 When I’m not showering you with love, you will find me happily splashing around in my pool. It doesn’t matter if it’s freezing outside— I’m all about that water life 💦. Just like me, your kids will have a blast, and I’m wonderful with little ones. They’re my favorite!!! I was originally born in London, then I lived in Kuwait for a bit, and then I suddenly found myself homeless in the USA! Fortunately, PUP was there for me and took me in. Yes, I can also speak Arabic! 🇰🇼 My human friends say it’s just one of the many things that make me truly special. One thing you should know, though—I want to be the ONLY dog in the house! I have a big personality and I’m all about being the center of your universe. So if you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to claim your heart (and your couch!), I’m your girl. Let’s make memories that will last a lifetime. 💖 Adopt Pebbles today—because love is just a kiss away. 🐾

Story
Hey there! I'm Bam-bam, a 7-year-old Exotic Bully who’s here to prove that it’s not the brain that matters—it’s the heart! 🐾💖 I may have what some call a "smooth brain," but trust me, it doesn’t take a genius to know that I’m the perfect companion for any family. 😎 I’m super friendly and GREAT with kids—whether we're playing in the yard or cuddling on the couch, I’m always down for some fun. I’ve got a personality that’s as big as my love for butt scratches, and when I’m not playing, I’m probably giving you my signature “I’m a big softie” look. 🥰 But just one thing: I need to be the ONLY dog in the house. I’m a one-dog show, and I need to be the center of your world (because I’m just that lovable)! 🏆 I may not win any IQ contests, but I’ve got an expert-level understanding of what really matters in life: food, butt scratches, and making sure you’re smiling. 🤪 If you’re looking for a goofy, lovable, and all-around good boy to add to your family, then I’m your guy! Let’s get together and I’ll show you just how much joy a “smooth-brained” boy like me can bring to your life. 🐶❤️ Adopt Bam-bam today—he’s got all the love you need (and zero brain cells, but who’s counting?) 😂
