Butterscotch is approximately 2 years old and 40lbs.  He is great with dogs, and also likes cats!  Playful, happy, friendly and very energetic.  This guy needs continued training once adopted, to learn how to not be a "bull in a china shop" at times.  He is just so full of "happy" he gets a bit carried away with his energy.  But continued basic training, he will flourish for sure.  Because of his energy level, we would love an active person/s, hiker, walker..... this is not a pup for a "couch potato" environment.  Also no small children due to his energy level, much older teens+ would be best for Butterscotch. Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. Chulo has limited vision. He navigates the world through his other senses. He needs an environment where his people want to help him experience all the wonders of the world while always providing positive reinforcement. Our sweet sharpei mix arrived after his owners were arrested, knowing they had no other family to take him, he was surrendered to the shelter. Chulo was a give-away, this 1yr old, 50 pound mush, was just given away to the first person that said, Yes!. His owners only had him for 2 months, before he was given to the shelter. They didn't even know he was blind, when we went to get Chulo, a family member mentioned he continued bumping into walls, they said his eyes had crust in them. Chulo deserves a home that truly wants him, loves him and will provide the structure he needs to flourish regardless he can't see. He was lucky enough to go into a foster home upon arrival. It was in this home that he showed his true personality of being a total love-bug. He LOVES attention and loves to lay on the couch. He becomes extremely anxious in a crate, thrashing around, clearly unable to settle. Once they put him in a separate room he was fine. We don't know if in his previous home he was left alone crated for hours on end, but we do know, he feels lost when his people aren't near. Due to his inability to see the interaction with other dogs is hard, in his foster home he got into some fights with the resident dog; it was due to this - he had to be returned. Chulo's ideal forever home is an adult home only, with structure and new experiences. There are so many adventures for him to participate in.
