Story
Butterscotch is approximately 2 years old and 40lbs.  He is great with dogs, and also likes cats!  Playful, happy, friendly and very energetic.  This guy needs continued training once adopted, to learn how to not be a "bull in a china shop" at times.  He is just so full of "happy" he gets a bit carried away with his energy.  But continued basic training, he will flourish for sure.  Because of his energy level, we would love an active person/s, hiker, walker..... this is not a pup for a "couch potato" environment.  Also no small children due to his energy level, much older teens+ would be best for Butterscotch. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##1988940##

Story
Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. If you have the heart, home and time for this sweet girl, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or go to our FB page or call the number listed below. Story
Tank & Chrissy are gorgeous, gentle and very sweet purebred shar peis who were given up to the rescue after their owner in rural Mississippi passed away. They are just wonderful dogs, friendly and loving and very bonded. We would love for them to be adopted together. Tank and Chrissy are not siblings, their owner purchased them from a breeder with the intent to breed and then sell puppies. Chrissy had one litter and then her owner passed away. Wag spayed and neutered Tank and Chrissy once they came to the rescue, Wags also paid for necessary eye surgery for both dogs and they have recovered well. Unfortunately, they are both heartworm positive, but have a mild cases and are being treated. They will be two years old this summer. We have decided to list them now to see if we can find a potential adopter who is willing to adopt them together and either wait for them to finish their heartworm treatment or even adopt them and continue the treatment on their own. They really are extremely easy and just the nicest dogs and deserve a loving home of their own.   At the rescue Tank and Chrissy live with other dogs and are friendly to kids and are well socialized. They love to play together, adore toys and bones and are both major snuggle bugs. We have not listed an adoption fee for Tank and Chrissy—their vet bills have been into the thousands between the eye surgery, spay, neuter, and heartworm treatment, and we are not expecting that to be reimbursed but would like to discuss the fee with any potential adopters. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3  where one woman cares for 150 dogs in a small town in Mississippi.   For more information on Tank & Chrissy please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com     May 4, 2024, 8:07 pm

Story
*Name: Bruno *Age: 6.5 years old *Current Weight: 45 pounds *Rescued from: South Carolina *Adoption fee: $ 375 *Health: Up to date on vaccines, & microchipped, neutered *Adoption requirements: Adopter must be 25 or older, No cats Meet Bruno! Bruno is such a good boy and just looking for someone to love. When his prior family lost their housing they had to give up poor Bruno and the shelter begged us to take him, as he is such a wonderful boy and boy were they right. Bruno is Crate and house trained and knows commands (come, sit, stay, paw). Bruno is a big love, who is quiet and reserved. Bruno is absolutely wonderful on leash, he loves his morning strolls with our volunteer. He would make an excellent companion for anyone who take long walks and needs a buddy. Bruno has a very chill relaxed personality and would flourish in a home that would have the same type of energy. Brunos ideal home would be one without small children since fast movements make him nervious. Bruno prefers to hang out with female dogs over males since he likes to show off in front of the ladies. Bruno loves to investigate the yards here at our adoption center and when he is done just plop down in the grass and just relax. Our staff and volunteers love Brunos wonderful demenor and chill personality. This beautiful boy is just looking for the right place to call home.  FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING All adoption fees are non-refundable If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals. Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application. ##1185108##
