Big Guy is a lovable cuddle bug! Found as a stray, he has quickly learned how to walk on a leash without pulling and has learned several commands (sit, stay, down, come, shake hands). He gets along well with other dogs, and even does well on group walks. He is not bothered by or interested in cats and he doesn’t bark much. Fireworks and loud noises (like the washer and dryer) scare him. He enjoys taking the stuffing out of toys and chewing on sticks. His other hobbies are stalking squirrels and playing chase or hide-and seek in the yard! Big Guy is very gentle and overall a calm dog, but he’s still young and gets bursts of energy. Hello, my name is Dotty. I had kind of a rough start in life. Living outside not getting the medical or social attention I need. Due to that I thrive for attention. My love language is Quality Time and Physical Touch. I can't help it. Now that I get it from my foster mama, I can't get enough. I'm looking for a family that wants to spoil me. Someone who will allow me to sleep inside and spending lots of time with me. I can be playful and I can also be lazy. I am in a home with other dogs, but I would love to be the only dog spoiled and 100% of your attention. I am a "girl power" type of dog and draw my comfort towards females. I will need an assertive human to keep my stubbornness and sass to a bare minimum. I have environmental allergies so my vet says the perfect home would be away from the Houston humid weather. Banksy is such a sweet boy. He`s eager to please and loves to be pet. He`ll happily zoom around to amuse himself when left to his own devices, but he`ll settle right down next to your side for as long as you`ll pet him. He loves attention. He`s so friendly and loves everyone! He’s done well around children, even gotten along well with other dogs. He love attending in shelter playgroups and has proven that he’s great at reading other dogs’ social cues. If they want him to take it easy he will, but if they want him to play rough and rowdy he can do that too! We`re not sure what his life was like before he came into the shelter as a stray on 5/3/23, but based on the fact that he`s missing the top of his right ear we can only assume it was rough. We`re determined to find him a home where he`ll be surrounded by love and he can forget about any hard times.
