Story
"Are you looking to rescue a nice dog that is out of the puppy stage? Then STOP SCROLLING! Meet Pearl! She is a very sweet middle aged (5-7 ish years) lab/shepherd type mix who is 52 pounds and is just waiting for a forever family to notice her. We don’t know her story before she was picked up as a stray in Houston with heartworms, but it is evident that she was well socialized and has lived in a home before. She was clearly a mama and is mellow, with a special kind of wisdom about her. Pearl had excellent behavior notes in the shelter— non-reactive to other dogs, quiet and calm, keeping her kennel clean, going potty outside, walking nicely on leash, and being friendly with all the staff/volunteers. We are so glad we chose her! Pearl is so excited for her new lease on a better life. She’s a diamond in the rough and her forever family will be lucky to have found her. She’s the low-maintenance type: a couple meals a day, a comfy bed, and occasional walks/strolls. Pearl is a healthy girl who is now spayed and kicking her heartworms to the curb, so she is ready for adoption and has much more life left to live!" Pearl is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/pearl/. Story
Polaris is a young girl who was found dumped on the side of the road with a bag of dog food dumped on the ground as her only help for survival. A good samaritan picked her up and contacted me. Help Polaris never face that kind of treatment again by giving her a forever home. She is very sweet and friendly and great with other dogs and people and kids. She definitely has a prey drive though, which is not at all unusual for dogs, so no kitties or small animals. She walks well on the leash and does well in a crate. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Big Boy was part of 3 puppies we rescued in Texas. Mom was dumped and had her litter of 8 puppies. Big Boy is super smart, treat/food motivated, and has a curious instinct. He loves treat-dispensing toys and any toys that require him to sniff out treats. Out of the 3, Big Boy was always first to learn something new, and his siblings followed. He loves playing with his siblings and can share toys for the most part, but he is always interested in the toys that his siblings have. Big Boy is still learning boundaries, such as not eating his siblings food or taking his siblingstreat-dispensing toys away. For this reason, we tend to feed/ give treat-dispensing toys separately. Big Boy is potty-trained. He will be attending PetSmart training/socialization classes starting Feb 8th. Big Boy is curious about my moms cat, but the cat is not ready to interact with Big Boy. He will try to sniff her or eat the cat food. He gets along great with my brother 7-year-old Black Lab.

Story
My name is Dana I am almost two. I was adopted a couple summers ago, but my older sister has started picking fights with me, so my dad wants me to live somewhere safer for me. I am a very smart german shepherd cross. I have learned how to open the back door by myself and to get out of any chain link fence by opening the gate. I need a home where I can fulfill my active lifestyle. I am a very active girl and enjoy running around and wrestling with my siblings. I currently live with my older sister and a dachshund brother. I like to play, and have a rowdy playstyle, so would be best matched with another dog that appreciates that! I am very smart and have learned how to sit and stay. I look forward to meeting you and hoping you can teach me new and wonderful things. If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $300 and I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations ##1745197##
