Story
Hello, I'm Sylvia.
I've been told that if I were a household item, I'd be a weighted blanket. Honestly, I think that's pretty accurate.
I'm about 3 years old, 60 pounds, and my specialties include cuddling, napping, sunbathing, collecting toys, and making myself fit into dog beds that are clearly too small for me.
If there's a cozy spot available, I will find it.
If there's a dog bed available, I will claim it.
If there's a lap available... well... let's just say I don't let technicalities like my size get in the way.
I'm a gentle girl who can be a little shy when meeting new people. New things can make me nervous at first, but once I realize you're kind, my sweet personality starts to shine. Having other dogs around helps me feel brave, and I absolutely love having canine friends to show me the ropes.
In fact, if I could make one wish for my future home, it would be a dog sibling.
Someone to play with.
Someone to nap with
Someone to remind me that everything is okay.
When I'm feeling confident, I enjoy walks, playing with my dog friends, carrying toys around, chewing on bones, and showing off my silly side. Every morning when the shelter staff comes in, I don't rush outside right away. Nope. First, I grab the nearest toy.
Then I proudly parade around with it
It's important that everyone admires my treasure before I begin my day.
I also have a very important rule:
Whenever you walk past me and I roll onto my back, a belly rub fee is required. No exceptions. It's in the contract. The good news is that payment is easy. A few belly rubs usually cover the balance.
I love treats, snacks, bones, toys, more toys, and basically any food you decide to share with me. I also enjoy hearing that I'm beautiful. If you tell me I'm pretty while offering a snack, we'll probably become best friends.
I'm house trained, kennel trained, and have excellent indoor manners. My favorite hobbies include professional-level lounging, sunbathing in a fenced yard, cuddling with my people, and finding the softest spot in the house for an afternoon nap.
My dream home is a quieter one with older children who understand that sometimes shy girls need a little patience. I'd love a fenced yard where I can soak up the sunshine and a dog sibling who can help me build confidence and show me that the world isn't such a scary place.
What I'm really looking for is a family that will let me settle in at my own pace and discover just how much love I have to give.
Because underneath my shy exterior is a sweet, cuddly girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her people.
A comfy bed.
A sunny spot.
A dog friend.
A few toys.
Some belly rubs.
Maybe a snack.
Okay... definitely a snack.
If that sounds like your kind of companion, I think we might be perfect for each other.
Love,
Sylvia
