Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!  My name is Woody from Korea and I am a wonderful approximately 7 month old  male Shiba Inu mix.  I weigh approximately 24 lbs. and so excited to find my new forever home.  I am very happy, affectionate, smart, and friendly.  I was saved from the Korean kill shelter where I was due to be euthanized. The activists came and saved me and I can't wait to come to America and find a family to love and care for me forever.  Approximately over a million dogs a year are slaughtered to be eaten.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park, and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,595 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.   A GPS tracker or Apple Air Tag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an Air Tag from us   We cannot guarantee breed or age. The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.   Please e-mail   admin@gingerspetrescue.org   for an adoption application. Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org   Hi! My name is Shiro, and I came all the way from Korea in hopes of finding my forever home. I am about 3 years old, weigh 14 lbs, and am a handsome Shiba Inu boy. I was rescued from a difficult past, a high kill shelter in South Korea and now I’m ready for a new chapter filled with kindness and care. I’ve traveled a long way to get here, and all I need now is a family who will give me the love I’ve been waiting for. So far, I have not shown any issues with other dogs, children, or people — but every dog may respond differently when settling into a new home. My adoption fee of $1,995 is a donation that is non-refundable and helps save the lives of other dogs in need. It covers my neuter, vaccinations, microchip, boarding fees, health certificate, and transport costs from Korea to Seattle. A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs — you can bring your own or purchase one from us. We do not guarantee the breed or age of our dogs. Ginger’s Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and all adoption fees are donations that help more dogs get their second chance. If you think you can open your heart to a very special boy like me, please email admin@gingerspetrescue.org for an adoption application.    March 7, 2026, 8:59 pm

Story
Meet Leeta Name: LeetaAge: 5 yearsSex: Female (Spayed)Breed: Shiba MixWeight: 9.8 kg (a little chubby )Height: 32 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story Leeta’s previous owner entered a nursing home. Unfortunately, his son was unable to care for her, and she was surrendered to a shelter.   ‍‍‍ People & SocializationLeeta is a gentle and affectionate dog who just needs a little time to warm up. She may be cautious at first, but after spending 1–2 hours together, she begins to trust and will lean into you for pets or gently paw at you to ask for attention. She absolutely loves treats, which helps her bond quickly with new people. However, in unfamiliar environments, loud voices or being approached too quickly may scare her, and she may try to move away. She is comfortable being handled by her trusted person but may avoid being picked up by strangers—especially in stressful situations (like vet visits or getting into a car). She likely just isn’t used to being lifted. No known experience with children under 13 Enjoys affection once comfortable Shows her belly when she trusts you     Dog SocializationLeeta’s reactions to other dogs depend on their behavior. Gentle, calm dogs → she greets politely and may even play (play bow!) Pushy or reactive dogs → she can become defensive (growling or reacting) She has shown some dominant behaviors (like mounting) when first meeting new dogs and may be more assertive with smaller or younger dogs. However, she tends to settle well with calm, slightly larger, or respectful dogs. Careful introductions are important, as she may react if another dog is aggressive or confrontational. She may growl at food from other dogs (not from people).   Cat TestLeeta has seen a resident cat at the vet. She was initially curious, but became overly excited when the cat moved, so caution and slow introductions would be needed in a home with cats.   Energy LevelModerate energyShe enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward.   ‍ Walk & Leash Can pull on leash but generally follows her handler well Walks nicely in quiet areas Can be scared of busy roads and traffic   Car & Crate Calm and quiet once inside the car (no motion sickness) However, she is scared of getting into the car and needs to be lifted in Calm in a kennel/crate   House Training Mostly outdoor potty If left too long (7–8 hours), she may use an indoor bathroom area   Personality & NotesLeeta may look like a typical Shiba, but she has a softer, more affectionate personality. She was deeply loved by her previous owner and is now adjusting to a completely new life after losing him. Because of this, she may seem a little timid at first—but once she feels safe, her true personality shines: Affectionate and loving Expressive (nudging with her body or pawing gently for pets) Smart and observant Quiet (rarely barks) She isn’t very familiar with toys yet, likely due to her past lifestyle, but once comfortable, she shows playful behaviors like play bows and engaging with her person. She may hesitate in unfamiliar environments such as long staircases or large buildings, likely due to limited exposure.   Ideal HomeLeeta would thrive in a patient, understanding home that can: Give her time to adjust and build trust Provide calm, structured introductions to new environments and dogs Continue working on leash manners and confidence   If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will blossom into a deeply affectionate dog once she trusts you, Leeta could be the perfect match. Story
Meet Dongree   Breed: Shiba mix Age: 4 years old Sex: Spayed female Colour: Brown Weight: 14kg Height (to shoulder): 45cm   Rescue Story   Donggree was rescued from a city shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting patiently ever since for a family of her own.   She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built.   Personality & Socialization   Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you.   She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship.   Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.   Energy Level & Behavior   Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk.   She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport.   She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments.   A Loyal and Independent Spirit   Donggree is a bright, affectionate girl with that unmistakable Shiba charm — loyal, clean, and quietly confident. She may be cautious at first, but with patience and consistency, she opens up to reveal a loving heart.   Once she trusts you, she’ll become your faithful shadow, following you with her signature calm energy and gentle eyes.   Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to build trust. A home that appreciates the independent but affectionate nature of Shiba mixes would be perfect for her.   Donggree may take a little time to trust, but once she does, she’ll stay by your side for life — loyal, loving, and full of quiet strength. Apply to foster or adopt to show her how beautiful the world can be. www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram.
