New Year, New Beginnings!A huge thanks to our partners at Best Friends Animal Society for sponsoring this animals adoption fee! Helping us place more cats and dogs into loving homes this season!*Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-PetAndy is a 37-pound mixed breed with a personality that blends the independent and stoic nature of a Chow Chow and the cautious, thoughtful demeanor of a Shiba Inu. He’s a reserved gentleman who takes his time to warm up, but once he trusts you, his loyalty runs deep. Andy thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would do best in a teen or adult-only home where his space and boundaries are respected. He’s not a fan of feline friends, so a cat-free household is a must. If you’re looking for a quiet, dignified companion who appreciates a patient and understanding approach, Andy might be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Syrah! Syrah is a smart, confident, and active pup looking for a family who can keep up with her sharp mind and independent spirit. She shows classic Shiba Inu–type traits: affectionate on her own terms, loyal as long as you’re in sight, and happily self-assured. She’s very intelligent and highly trainable—already walks well on a leash, knows “sit,” and even rings a bell to ask for water. Syrah enjoys a challenge and loves enrichment, especially her Kong. She does test boundaries and has some alpha tendencies, so she’ll thrive with confident, consistent leadership. Syrah would do best in an active home with structure, enrichment, and time spent outdoors—her favorite place is the backyard soaking up fresh air alongside her people. With the right family, Syrah will be a fun, engaging, and deeply rewarding companion.

Story
🏠Currently in a Toronto foster home Hi, I’m Cici — and I can’t wait to meet my forever family. 🤎 I’m a 3-year-old Jindo–Shiba mix girl with a strong, healthy 16.8kg body and an even stronger heart. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Korea — a place where my story almost ended before it truly began. But I got a second chance, and now I’m living safely in a foster home in Toronto, hoping the next part of my journey leads me straight into your arms. I love people. Really, truly love them. Even when I meet someone for the first time, I open my heart right away — wagging my tail, smiling, and gently asking for affection. I’m the type who likes to stay close, make eye contact, and share warm moments of connection. People say I have a very soft, loving soul. On walks, I get a little excited and may pull on the leash, but I’m practicing and getting better every day. I adjust quickly to new places and sounds, so everyday life with me is easy and fun. I also get along well with other dogs. I do have one thing to keep in mind: when I see small animals like cats or birds, my curiosity kicks in and I want to chase them. So in a home with different kinds of pets, I would need careful management. I’m a healthy eater, a bright and gentle girl, and I’ve been told more than once that I’m pretty adorable too. Just being near me, people say they feel warm — maybe that’s my special charm. Right now, I’m waiting for a forever family who will love me completely. Once I give my heart, I love deeply and for life. Please adopt me, and let me bring love, warmth, and joy into your home. 🤎

Hi! My name is Blue, and I came all the way from South Korea in hopes of finding my forever family. I’m a 3-year-old Shiba Inu mix boy, weighing about 13 lbs — small, spirited, and ready to start fresh. (My age and weight are estimated.) I was saved from a high-kill shelter in South Korea, where many dogs never get the chance to know comfort or love. Now, I’m ready for a brand-new beginning filled with kindness, safety, and a place to finally call home. I’ve traveled a long way to get here, and I’m so hopeful for my next chapter. Story
Meet Dongree   Breed: Shiba mix Age: 4 years old Sex: Spayed female Colour: Brown Weight: 14kg Height (to shoulder): 45cm   Rescue Story   Donggree was rescued from a city shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting patiently ever since for a family of her own.   She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built.   Personality & Socialization   Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you.   She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship.   Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.   Energy Level & Behavior   Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk.   She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport.   She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments.   A Loyal and Independent Spirit   Donggree is a bright, affectionate girl with that unmistakable Shiba charm — loyal, clean, and quietly confident. She may be cautious at first, but with patience and consistency, she opens up to reveal a loving heart.   Once she trusts you, she’ll become your faithful shadow, following you with her signature calm energy and gentle eyes.   Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to build trust. A home that appreciates the independent but affectionate nature of Shiba mixes would be perfect for her.   Donggree may take a little time to trust, but once she does, she’ll stay by your side for life — loyal, loving, and full of quiet strength. Story
🏠 Currently in a Seattle foster home 🧡 Hi, I'm Milo 🧡 Age: 1 year Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Male Weight: 8kg (just under 18 lbs) I may be fully grown, but I’m a little guy with a big heart—and I’m ready to fill your home with love, one pawstep at a time. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. I don’t trust easily, but not because I don’t want to—it’s just that I’ve never really known what it means to feel safe. That said, I’m very curious, and I love food (especially treats from your hand!). Give me a bit of time, and you’ll see me coming over on my own, asking for pets and showing you my soft, cuddly side. Sometimes sudden movements or unfamiliar touches might startle me, so it’s best to approach slowly at first—low posture, calm energy, and of course… snacks! With your patience and kindness, I’ll learn that hands mean love, not fear. When it’s time for walks, I do best with a chest harness and a backup leash for safety—two points of security, just in case. Quiet streets are my favorite for now. With gentle exposure and encouragement, I’ll slowly grow more confident exploring the world by your side. I know I’m not perfect. I still have so much to learn. But now is the perfect time to teach me. I’m young, open-hearted, and so eager to bond. With love, patience, and a calm guiding hand, I’ll grow into a polite, loyal companion who brings joy to your everyday life. I’ve lived my life behind shelter walls—but I’m ready to trade that for warm beds, gentle walks, and a forever family to call my own. Could that family be you? With hope in my eyes and love in my little heart, Milo 🐾
