Story
Hi! My name is Soony. 💛 I'm a 5-month-old Shiba Inu and Jindo mix girl, weighing about 5 kg (11 lbs). With my big pointy ears, fluffy coat, and always-smiling face, I'm a happy little puppy who's ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and endless adventures. Even though I'm still just a baby, I've already been through more than any puppy should. When I was very young, I was rescued while suffering from a severe skin disease. I was so sick that euthanasia was even recommended. But the wonderful people who cared for me didn't give up. With lots of treatment, patience, and love, I made a full recovery. Today, I'm healthy, happy, and ready to begin the life I've always deserved. I absolutely love people! I'm friendly, affectionate, and usually warm up to new people very quickly. If you give me a little attention, I'll happily wag my tail and come over to ask for more cuddles. I love other dogs, too! Playing with my canine friends is one of my favorite things, and I'm always excited to run around, chase, and make new friends. I'm already learning so many new things. I enjoy going for walks, ride calmly in the car, and adjust surprisingly well to new places and experiences. I'm also a very quiet puppy and rarely bark, so I'm an easy little companion to have around the house. Did I mention that I love food? 😋 I'm definitely not a picky eater! Kibble, treats... if it's food, chances are I'll happily eat it with a wagging tail. I'm doing really well with potty training and currently succeed about 80% of the time. Since I'm still a puppy, I may have a few accidents while adjusting to a new home, but with patience, consistency, and a regular routine, I'll keep improving every day. Because I'm only five months old, I'm still learning how the world works. I might chew on something I shouldn't, get curious about everything, or make a few silly puppy mistakes along the way. I'm looking for a family who understands that puppies don't come perfectly trained—they grow into wonderful dogs through patient guidance, gentle teaching, and lots of encouragement. The good news is that I love people, enjoy learning, and respond really well to praise and attention. I can't wait to learn all about family life and become the best companion I can be. I may have had a difficult start, but that chapter is behind me now. What I'm dreaming about is simple: a home filled with love, cozy naps, fun adventures, and people who will watch me grow from a playful little puppy into their lifelong best friend. Will you be the family that gets to share every milestone, every season, and every happy memory with me? I promise I'll make each one worth remembering. 💛🐾

Story
Miko is a highly intelligent puppy and she has already learned to walk on a leash and she has only had three accidents in the house in the past week. She loves her little balls to play with and she comes with many extras and a car seat. She knows her name, but if you need to change it, we understand. Miko sleeps in a crate at night and does not bark and she sleeps from 10 PM to 6 AM before she has to go potty. She’s such a good girl unfortunately we got her without realizing that our daughter is allergic.

🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster homeHi, I'm Nire! 🤍🐾 My name is Nire, and I'm a 3-year-old Shiba Inu mix girl weighing 14.3 kg (31.5 lbs). I have bright round eyes, a happy smile, and a heart full of love just waiting for my forever family. Before I was rescued, life was not very kind to me. I was saved from a shelter where my future was uncertain, but you would never guess it from the way I greet each day. I love people, I love being loved, and I still believe the best is yet to come. When we first meet, I might be a little shy and cautious. New places and unfamiliar faces can make me nervous for a moment. But if you give me a little patience and kindness, I'll soon come over to say hello, ask for pets, and show you my sweet and affectionate side. I enjoy spending time with other dogs, but if I'm being honest, people are my favorite. Nothing makes me happier than going for a walk together, sharing quiet moments, making eye contact, and simply being near the people I love. I dream of a family who wants a loyal companion to share everyday life with.I'm a smaller-sized girl with a calm and gentle personality. I don't need to be the center of attention. I'm happiest quietly staying by your side, watching the world together. As our bond grows, you'll discover that I'm actually quite the little sweetheart who loves affection and may even follow you around the house just to be close to you. I'm still working on my potty training, but I'm eager to learn and adapt. Because I enjoy human companionship and respond well to gentle guidance, I believe I'll settle into home life beautifully with a family willing to help me along the way.I've already survived one difficult chapter in my life. Now I'm hoping for a new beginning—a home filled with love, patience, and belonging. I don't need anything fancy. I just want a family to love and a place where I can finally stay forever. Could that family be you?Love,Nire 🤍

Good with dogs,
Story
My name is Jessie, and I’m a 2-year-old female Shiba × Jindo mix weighing around 13kg — a comfortable medium size, perfect for sharing everyday life together. I have the sweet fox-like face of a Shiba, mixed with the sturdy and graceful charm of a Jindo. People often notice my bright eyes and calm presence first… but the longer they spend with me, the more they fall in love with my quiet affection and gentle personality. Before I was rescued, I was on the euthanasia list at a shelter. Because of that, I think I understand more than most dogs how precious a real family can be. 💛 Thankfully, even after everything I’ve been through, I still have a very kind heart. I get along well with other dogs and usually live peacefully without conflict. I can be a little shy or cautious when meeting new people or entering unfamiliar environments, but that’s simply because I’m thoughtful and careful by nature. I’m not the type to rush up to strangers right away. But if you give me patience and kindness instead of pressure, something beautiful happens — one day I’ll quietly walk toward you first, wag my tail, and decide that you are someone I can trust. And once I open my heart, I become incredibly loving and loyal. I truly enjoy being near my people and sharing quiet companionship together. Because I’ve never really experienced normal family life before, there are still many things I need to learn after adoption. The sounds inside a home, neighborhood walks, house routines, alone time, visitors, and everyday family life may all feel new to me at first. During the first days or weeks, I may seem nervous, cautious, or unsure while adjusting to such a different environment. I might make mistakes sometimes — but those moments are not “bad behavior.” They are simply part of learning and healing. What I need most is not punishment, but patience. If you gently teach me things like potty routines, leash manners, house rules, and how to feel safe with people, I know I can continue growing into an amazing companion. Jindo mixes are known for being intelligent and observant, and I’m the kind of girl who pays close attention to my human’s emotions and routines. When I feel secure and understood, I learn very quickly. In the beginning, it will help me most if my new family gives me a calm, predictable routine and a quiet safe space where I can relax. Rather than rushing me into too many new experiences at once, I would do best with gentle guidance and time to adjust at my own pace. And once trust is built, I will give my whole heart in return. I may not be the kind of dog who feels “perfect” from the very first moment. But if you are looking for a companion to grow with, learn with, and slowly become family with, I truly believe I could bring deep love, warmth, and happiness into your life. A girl who was once almost forgotten is now waiting hopefully for her forever home. Maybe that family is you. 🐾 Love, Jessie

Story
Est. DOB: 06/25/2025 Current Weight: 38lbs Adoption fee: $275 Jolene is a beautiful young girl with a resilient spirit and a heart full of love. After being abandoned and left to survive on the streets for three weeks, a kindhearted person finally brought her to safety. Now she's ready to leave her past behind and find the loving family she has always deserved. Jolene is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and full of energy. She greets every day with enthusiasm and has a happy, loving personality that wins over everyone she meets. She would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family adventures—whether that's going for walks, hiking new trails, jogging alongside you, or simply enjoying playtime in the yard. After a day of fun, she's more than happy to curl up on the couch for snuggles. Jolene truly is the perfect combination of active and affectionate. As a young dog, Jolene is still learning and would benefit from continued training to help her become the best companion she can be. She'll do best with an active family who can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Another playful resident dog would also be a wonderful match to help her burn off energy and enjoy having a canine friend. Jolene is looking for a family that will provide the stability, patience, and unconditional love she's been waiting for. In return, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of joyful companionship. If you're searching for a fun-loving adventure buddy with a big heart and an even bigger spirit, Jolene just might be your perfect match. Disclaimer: Please note that dogs in a rescue environment may behave differently than they would in a home setting. While we do our best to assess each dogs habits and behaviors, we cannot guarantee that any dog is fully potty trained or will not have accidents after adoption. Changes in environment, routine, stress levels, and transition into a new home can all impact a dogs house-training habits. Patience, consistency, and continued training may be needed as the dog adjusts to their new home. Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. These descriptions are not definitive and should be considered a "guestimate." **Sudder is not currently in the direct care of HTHH. His owner needs to rehome him due to his owner's own health issues and we are assisting them with that. If you are interested in Sudder, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform ** Sudder is an 11-year-old Shiba Inu mix with a look you won’t forget—one ear up, one ear down, a wagging tail, and soulful eyes that lock right onto yours. He’s affectionate, playful, and happiest with life’s simple joys: cuddles on the sofa, gentle scratches, and slow walks where he can take his time sniffing flowers, bushes, and every cedar tree along the way. Sudder spent 9 years with his original family and the last 2 with a loving elderly couple who adopted him through Happy Tails Happy Homes. Like many Shibas, he bonds closely with one “favorite” person, but he warms up to others who offer patience, treats, and affection. He’s adapted well from farm life to a busy, multi-pet community and is now comfortable with everyday activity. He’s even made friends with many dogs and cats, though he may still bark when he wants to say hello but can’t. Sudder would do best in a home with a fenced yard, as leash walking can be frustrating for him. He can be reactive to some dogs on walks (barking/pulling), so an experienced dog owner is ideal. He recently had CCL surgery (similar to an ACL tear) and is recovering well, but needs limited activity through August. He may also need help getting in and out of a car. He weighs 31 lbs. Despite everything, Sudder still has playful bursts of energy and an adorable habit of chewing and stuffing his soft bed when he’s self-soothing. He does not have a strong prey drive or the typical “Shiba scream,” tolerates grooming well, and sheds seasonally. His family is heartbroken to rehome him due to health limitations and hopes to find a loving home where he’ll be deeply cared for and understood. Sudder isn’t perfect—but he’s funny, loyal, and full of personality, and he’s looking for someone patient with a good sense of humor to love him back.
