Story
Name: Little Man Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Shih Tzu Weight: 10.5 pounds Adoption fee: $400 (altered, vaccines up to date, microchipped, vet checked) Location: IN FOSTER, please fill out an adoption application at azsmalldog.org/adoption-form Compatibility with other dogs: Good Compatibility with cats: Unknown Compatibility with kids: Older kids Energy level: Moderate If you are looking for a dopey little lovebug, look no further than Little Man. Little man came to the rescue after his owner sadly passed away, and he has been anxiously awaiting his forever home since that time. Little Man is such a sweet boy. Little man is a little slow to warm up, but once he does, he will be your constant shadow. He is the perfect lap dog who wants nothing more than endless cuddles. He would likely do best in a home with someone home more often than not. He is very awkward when picked up (his foster mom describes this as sloth mode), so he will likely do best in a home with older children, if any. Little man struggles with food allergies, which is maintained by his protein-specific diet (no sneaking treats). He is potty pad trained but needs some additional some time and work to be completely house trained.   WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENT LOCATION: Saturdays 11am to 3pm at Petco at Tatum & Bell Rd       4727 East Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032  *Visit our website or Facebook page for special events schedules, news, and more info!* Website: www.azsmalldog.org     Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/arizonasmalldogrescue/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 1:59 pm

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogInformation Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Oreo, and I am a beautiful Shih Tzu girl who was born 1/20/20, and I weigh 11 pounds. I am still a bit fearful of people, so would do best with a patient adopter as I learn to trust. I must have a fenced in yard and a sibling to play with and learn from.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Shih Tzu girl, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Story
Henri was saved from a high kill shelter and has been in our partner rescue for awhile, until we just brought him to Doggie Tails Rescue House. He is kennel trained but needs to be house-trained to your environment. He is vetted with shots, neuter and even a dental. Very sweet, calm, and not a barker!

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* *MUST HAVES:  Another playful confident dog; secure fenced yard** Meet Yoda, a 1½-year-old, 16-pound Terrier/Shih Tzu mix with a big personality packed into a petite body. With his wispy “wild child” ears and mischievous sparkle, Yoda is equal parts charm, fun, and heart. Yoda was originally found as a stray and is now thriving in a foster home while waiting for his forever family. He is a very sweet—but shy—boy who needs a patient, understanding home that will allow him the time he needs to feel safe and confident. If you’re familiar with the 3-3-3 rule (and if not, we encourage you to look it up!), it describes Yoda perfectly. He isn’t a dog who will instantly settle in, but with patience and consistency, he blossoms. Once he trusts you, he’s deeply affectionate and wonderfully loyal. An energetic and happy pup, Yoda loves staying active. Long walks, games of fetch, hikes, shopping trips, and patio dining are right up his alley. He would also enjoy having a friendly canine companion to wrestle and learn from, along with a fenced yard for zoomies and sunny lounging. Yoda is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines—fully ready for his next great adventure. Now all he needs is the right person (or people) to take that journey with him.
