Name: Little Man Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Shih Tzu Weight: 10.5 pounds Adoption fee: $400 (altered, vaccines up to date, microchipped, vet checked) Location: IN FOSTER, please fill out an adoption application at azsmalldog.org/adoption-form Compatibility with other dogs: Good Compatibility with cats: Unknown Compatibility with kids: Older kids Energy level: Moderate If you are looking for a dopey little lovebug, look no further than Little Man. Little man came to the rescue after his owner sadly passed away, and he has been anxiously awaiting his forever home since that time. Little Man is such a sweet boy. Little man is a little slow to warm up, but once he does, he will be your constant shadow. He is the perfect lap dog who wants nothing more than endless cuddles. He would likely do best in a home with someone home more often than not. He is very awkward when picked up (his foster mom describes this as sloth mode), so he will likely do best in a home with older children, if any. Little man struggles with food allergies, which is maintained by his protein-specific diet (no sneaking treats). He is potty pad trained but needs some additional some time and work to be completely house trained.   WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENT LOCATION: Saturdays 11am to 3pm at Petco at Tatum & Bell Rd       4727 East Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032  *Visit our website or Facebook page for special events schedules, news, and more info!* Website: www.azsmalldog.org     Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/arizonasmalldogrescue/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 1:59 pm

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogInformation Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Oreo, and I am a beautiful Shih Tzu girl who was born 1/20/20, and I weigh 11 pounds. I am still a bit fearful of people, so would do best with a patient adopter as I learn to trust. I must have a fenced in yard and a sibling to play with and learn from.  If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Shih Tzu girl, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. He would be a great fit for a single person who is able to spend lots of quality time with him and able to pick him up if you wanna take him for a ride as he is 19 pounds. He is very shy about walking and we are still working on this as he tends to be timid with noise of cars or other dogs that bark. He is a big lover bug and is potty trained and able to be left home alone without issues of chewing or having accidents in the house. Charlie He is 3 years old

To get started on the adoption process, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then stop by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Or you can just come and see us and fill out a consultation form upon arrival! No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Thank you for your interest in Paddington! He is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please email our foster coordinator Kris, at kris.gurka@foothillsanimal.org. Meet handsome Paddington (“Paddy”)!Paddy’s journey began on the streets, where he survived for an unknown amount of time before accidentally ending up in a neighborhood feral cat trap. After being rescued, the cat colony caretaker (now his devoted foster) searched for his owners for several weeks, but no one ever came forward. Shy and timid at first, Paddy bolted after a few days and, in a twist that feels very him, was safely trapped overnight a second time… in the same cat trap!Since then, Paddy has been blossoming in foster care. He’s been building his confidence, learning how to socialize, mastering leash walking, and discovering just how wonderful indoor life can be. He has a natural inclination toward good manners. He takes treats gently, is patient with small children, and gets along beautifully with cats (which feels fitting, given his beginnings!).Paddy is cautious around other dogs and will need slow, thoughtful introductions, ideally with calm and mellow canine companions. With time and patience, he may continue to grow in this area. What Paddy loves most are short park walks, car rides, cozy naps beside his humans, sleeping curled up in the crook of your arm, belly rubs, and (his absolute favorite) Puppy Patties from In-N-Out. He is eager to please and responds best to positive reinforcement and gentle guidance.Paddy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. He does experience some separation anxiety and may howl or bark when left alone, so a family willing to continue supporting him with reassurance and consistency will help him shine. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who’s ready to leave his street days behind and soak up the good life, Paddington might just be your perfect match.
