Shih Tzu puppies and dogs in Elk Grove, California

QQ was abandoned and we found her near a restaurant dumpster. She is a sweet girl and we have fostered her on and off over the past few years. Originally, she was with a family member whose health made it so they had to give her away. Then she was recently rehomed with a family for 2.5 years but they were unable to keep her and dropped her back off to us (reasons unknown). She is not potty trained and is an adult dog so it may be hard to potty train her, but is very sweet, doesn’t bite, and rarely barks. She just needs a loving home. She has been around kids and other dogs with no problems (can show videos as proof) but has not been around cats (I am willing to help facilitate a meet and greet if you have a cat).

Possibly one of the most easy-going and laid back guys around, Taylor is a very sweet senior gentleman. He's perfectly housebroken and knows how to use a dog door. In wonderful health for a senior. Easy going about grooming and the vet. Neutered and up to date on all vaccines. He also gets along well with other dogs, kids and cats. Mostly he just wants his own person to follow around the house, somewhere comfy to take naps, and 2 square meals a day. If you want a loving companion who wont rock the boat, he might be the one for you!

Sonny is a handsome guy that will melt your heart! He is a 1-year-old, 8-pound, cream and white colored, Shih Tzu / Chihuahua mix ? Sonny was a stray at the Lodi City shelter when we pulled him, He has an adorable curled tail. Sunny will need a person who works from home and is with him most of the time. He is a great size to go everywhere you do! He is friendly but slightly shy. Sonny may need some leash training and house training. He is getting used to the routine of going outside with the command “go potty”. He keeps his kennel clean at night. He is a sweet, loving and playful boy. Need a playful puppy to add joy to your world? Meet Peaches. She is a nearly 5-month-old, Cream and Apricot, Shih Tzu / Papillion Mystery mix and weighs 6.38 pounds. She is NOT hypoallergenic but will require regular professional grooming to look her best. Peaches loves playing with her toys and does not like to share at the sanctuary. She could be best suited to being an only dog though she will play with other dogs. She loves to do Zoomies. She might be tiny but she has a great big personality. She loves everyone she meets and she is definitely the definition of a happy puppy and will jump up on your lap and give kisses. She is a PUPPY and may need more house training but she is getting the hang of going outside to potty on the command “go potty”. A good routine needs to be established early. She is learning to use the doggy door but is too small to go outside alone. She will need leash training when she is old enough to be outside safely. Due to her small size and spunky nature, she needs a home without young children, gentle teenagers ok. Peaches is scheduled to be spayed but we are looking for her home now. Meet the handsome Scooter! He is a 1-year-old, 12-pound, black with chocolate highlights, Shih Tzu mix? He is a happy and loving boy. He is looking for a home with a lot of human interaction. He gets along well with other dogs but would be fine in a single dog home. He is a great little companion and a great snuggle buddy! He needs a family home with kids 10 years and older or an active adult home where he gets of daily walks and lots of play time. He seems to be housebroken. Here at the sanctuary, we use the command "Go Potty" before taking the dogs outside to do their business. Scooter is happy to comply. This is a great habit to continue. He may need leash training. We have a transport trip to Norcal, and OR set to begin on 7/27/24 and we would love to add Chloe to our trip for the right home ❤️ Meet Chloe. She is a purebred 1.5 year old female shih tzu. She weighs 11 lbs and is at a healthy weight. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and has been thourley examined and cleared by our vet to find a home all her own. She is house trained and will go outside throughout the day as needed to use the restroom. She is crate trained, and has no issue being in a crate if you need to have her in one, whether to sleep/nap, or for her to be in there while you are away from the home. She however, has great house manners, so if you don't feel a crate is right for your home, then she would be fine without one. She is also leash trained, and loves her walks. She is phenomenal in the car, and LOVES road trips around town, whenever you allow her to be your passenger princess she is happy to accommodate ❤️☺️ She is WONDERFUL with ALL animals, whether it's cats, dogs, birds, or even farm animals. She is a friend to ALL that want to be her friend in return 💗 She is amazing meeting new people, and adores men, women, and children alike. She is beautifully tempered, kind hearted, and as sweet as they possibly come from her gentleness, to her serene demeanor she truly is made of all things great. She is NOT a barker, and is very quiet by nature. She loves to be in your lap, held, or simply nearby when she can be. If you are looking for a companion dog, don't let her age deter you for even a second. She has an old soul, and is that one of kind dog your heart has been waiting to love. Her prior owner sadly didn't have the time, nor means to care for her any longer, and being recently widowed left her feeling completely lost picking up the pieces in her life, leaving Chloe more and more by herself. Her goodbye was a hard one, but a neccesary one to ensure the happiness of Chloe moving forward, so we were contacted to bring her in and find her the home she deserved to have again.
