He doesn't chew things up, but he will happily steal items to parade around or play with them. It's more funny than destructive, but it does mean keeping small items picked up.Sir Tashi is still learning and will need continued training. Like many Shih Tzus, he can be a bit stubborn, especially when it comes to house manners. He is making progress, but this breed does best with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Beatrice is a sweet, friendly dog who was found wandering alone along a highway. Because she was a stray, everything about her is a mystery. We don't know what breed mix she is, how she's like with other animals, if she's trained, or when she was born. We can only estimate, which we think about 3-4 years old and Shih Tzu mix. Despite arriving at the shelter dirty and matted, her cheerful, loving personality never faltered. She weighs 11 lbs under all that matted fur (we will be taking care of that, so if it needs to be cut short, it will grow back!) Shes an affectionate little girl who enjoys human companionship and greets everyone with a wagging tail. Beatrices gentle nature and positive spirit make her an absolute joy to be around. Meet Gustavo - a sweet, loving little boy! He is good with all people, dog savvy kids 10+, cats, and most other dogs. Gustavo really loves being around his people, so his forever home should include someone who likes to stay home or is able to take him out on adventures and errands with them. His favorite activities are chewing bones, sitting on laps, and finding small spaces to sit in. He's always looking for new comfy spots, and will get up and plop himself down several times throughout the day. Gustavo also religiously follows his people around the home, wanting to be close. With time and confidence, we expect that he will likely settle into his home and become more comfortable being further apart from his people. He also loves giving face, hand, and toe kisses, and is still learning that people don't like to play with his teeth (it's getting better every day!). He means no harm, but because of this, we'd suggest older kids would be a better fit for him. Though he does get along with many dogs outside of the home, he would do best as an only dog in the home. Gustavo is working on his leash manners, he currently zig zags a little but is starting to pick up how to walk nicely! He's potty trained (though sometimes will excited pee when he sees his people or gets hyped up) and can be left for a couple of hours at of time in a pen or crate. He likes his walks, but doesn't need much more than 30 mins at a time, though he gets bursts of zoomies at home and whizzes round to get his energy out.
