Story
**Cooper is a mixed-breed dog. While he does not shed, we cannot guarantee he is allergy-friendly.**   Cooper is the epitome of a lover boy! Cooper is estimated to be around 2 years old, and he has won all of our hearts with his sweet and sensitive personality. He bonds strongly with his people and is happiest when he can be curled up in someone's lap or follow you around the house. Cooper weighs about 10lbs. Cooper came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray. He was in horrible condition when he came in. He was skin and bones and covered in severely matted fur. He was fully shaved down when he was neutered, and his sweet personality began to shine. Unfortunately, while he was at the shelter, he came down with an intense respiratory infection. After weeks of TLC and antibiotics, he is all healed and oh-so ready to have a fresh start with his fur-eever family. Cooper has blossomed in foster care, and we have learned that he is a goofy, playful guy. He loves playing with his toys and romping around with the other young, small dog in his foster home. He definitely is a velcro dog who loves to be around people, so he would do best with a family that doesn't have to leave him alone for long or often. He is such a cuddle bug and loves to get cozy with his foster parents or foster sister. He enjoys his walks and sunbathing, but is the type of dog who enjoys life mostly indoors. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but is quick to warm up and invite himself onto your lap for attention. Cooper loves his playful foster sister, so we think he would do best with a doggie sibling in his new home so that he always has someone to cuddle and romp around with. We haven't seen Cooper around cats, but we think he could do well with a slow introduction. Cooper could be a great addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Cooper is housetrained using a dog door. He is used to being kept in a room with one of his doggie foster sisters when his foster parents are gone for short periods, so he will need time to acclimate to being left for longer periods. Cooper will require regular professional grooming to upkeep his constantly growing fur. His new family should be prepared to pay for routine grooming sessions to maintain his curly fur and prevent matting. Cooper is such an amazing little guy, and he is going to make someone very lucky. If you think that is you, submit an application today!   Cooper's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. January 24, 2026, 8:19 pm

Story
Lucky is a darling boy who is guessed to be a shih tzu/lhasa apso type mix. He is about 17lbs and thought to be around 9yrs old, however acts much younger! Lucky was found in poor condition. He was malnourished and appeared to have been suffering from a flea allergy which caused inflamed skin and missing coat on half his body. In just a few weeks of proper care and good nutrition, he is already looking so much better. His coat will continue to grow, and we know that will make him even cuter! He can be scared/nervous when adjusting to a new environment, so his adoptive home will have to have a little patience. After a few days, he shows his sweet and happy personality. Lucky currently doesn't live with but has been around respectful kids and has done well with them while being closely monitored. Lucky's ideal home would be: * Experienced dog owners * A yard (however an apartment might be ok depending on the situation) * Must be within an hour of Sacramento Here are notes from his fostermom: This sweet boy is looking for a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and appreciated. Lucky does best with *older children* who can respect his space—he’s a gentle soul who just needs understanding and patience. Lucky is a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle and stay close to his humans. He enjoys playing with toys and is learning how to interact with other dogs; he may bark to get their attention, but he’s making progress every day! He’s *crate trained*, *potty trained*, and will bark or gently paw at you when he needs to go outside. Lucky also knows how to use a doggy door. He absolutely loves going on walks and greeting new people along the way. Lucky would thrive in a home with another *low- to mid-energy dog* or as the *only pet*. With love and stability, this affectionate boy will make a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly friend who just wants to be near you, Lucky might be your perfect match! Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Maggie is a very calm, sweet dog. I took her from a previous owner that had her for 11 yrs. She was given up as far as I know bec she was getting in her way if doing things. Maggie as I found out has abandonment issues. She has anxiety and always needs a companion. She’s scared of thunder and loud noise. She’ll be content just laying right beside or on your lap. I have a hard time leaving her for work. She panicks when nobody’s around esp the person that she’s used to. No other behavior problems, just really needs someone with her to make her feel secure. She’s a really good dog but I really hate doing this to her everytime I work. Her previous owner who had her for 11 yrs is retired, so they must’ve been together all the time. I hope to find someone who could really be a good fit for Maggie . She’s good with car and even plane ride.

Story
Maggie was an adopt by my sister to prevent euthanasia from an owner who didn’t want her despite having no known health issues. She’s eleven years old, but NEEDS VERY EXPERIENCED OWNER! Her anxiety is extremely severe and she is an escape master from gated places and can jump high despite her age. Needs a lot of attention but is very cuddly and loyal.

Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. Story
✨ Meet Sir Tashi - the sweetest little gentleman you'll ever know! ✨Sir Tashi is a 15-lb Shih Tzu, approximately 3 years old, with a heart as soft as his cuddles. He's playful, affectionate, and truly an all-around good boy with so much love to give.✔️ Doing great with potty training following other dogs through dog door. ✔️ Crate trained (sleeps in crate at night)✔️ Walks beautifully on leash✔️ Loves toys, playtime, and his foster siblings✔️ World-class cuddle bugSir Tashi also has a silly, mischievous side &#194&#151 he's a sock, shoe, and 'anything small enough to grab' thief 😄. He doesn't chew things up, but he will happily steal items to parade around or play with them. It's more funny than destructive, but it does mean keeping small items picked up.Sir Tashi is still learning and will need continued training. Like many Shih Tzus, he can be a bit stubborn, especially when it comes to house manners. He is making progress, but this breed does best with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Short, fun training sessions work best for basic commands, and adopters should expect a learning curve &#194&#151 particularly with housebreaking.Sir Tashi came into rescue alongside his Shih Tzu brother, Mister Tenzi (check k9ppr.org for his profile). While they are no longer fostered together and Sir Tashi will absolutely thrive independently, adopters interested in both brothers will receive a package adoption discount.💔 Important note: These boys were previously kept outdoors and neglected. Because of that, they will need a patient, understanding home committed to continuing basic manners and reinforcing potty habits as they settle into a new environment.Sir Tashi (or the two of them together!) would make a wonderful addition to a loving, committed family.Could that family be yours?⸻🐾 Adoption Requirements &#194&#149 Another dog required &#194&#149 Gentle children 10+ &#194&#149 Temperature controlled home- (Shih Tzus are prone to overheating) &#194&#149 Short walks only &#194&#149 Professional grooming every 6 weeks (not a low-maintenance breed)A detailed adoption application is required.Only applications that clearly meet the criteria and provide meaningful information will be considered. At K9 Paw Print Rescue, we believe every dog is a precious soul deserving of a home that truly fits them.👉 Apply at: www.k9ppr.orgJanuary 12, 2026, 12:43 am
