Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about within an hour of Wilmington, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Aubrei! Aubrei is a 13-year-old, 21 lb. Shitzu Terrier mix who came to us an an owner surrender. She was underweight and in need of a dental and a new beginning. Aubrei can happily fit into any home. She is currently putting on weight and has received her dental. The vet detected a very small heart murmur; but has no concerns about it, and says it’s fairly common. Aubrei has good vision and hearing, is fully potty trained, and doesn’t require any medication. She gets along great with kids, dogs, cats and even small animals. Aubrei is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and has no trouble with stairs.  Aubrei is as close to perfect as a dog can be. She enjoys playing a slow game of fetch, going on walks, car rides, and rolling in the grass. Aubrei even snuck into the guinea pig’s cage one day in her foster home and just laid down to watch them. This sweet girl isn’t needy for attention, but loves to get pets. She is good with being picked up and cuddled and loves being a couch potato. Hello, this is Bieber he was a found and adopted at an estimated age of 2 to 3 years old. He’s been a part of the family for about 11 years now, but unfortunately, it is time to part ways as life has got pretty hectic the past year with me working and being a new mom, and I feel like he isn’t getting the love and attention that he needs. Bieber is a simple dog who only needs a few walks a day and for you to love on him and play with him. He has the heart and energy of a puppy. (I always forget he’s pretty up there in age) He loves children, and going for walks, he will defend his household by barking if he thinks there is an intruder and stand his guard if he think someone is walking too close to you 😂 so when people pass by, I do put him on a tighter leash, but he actually wouldn’t hurt a fly. The only hiccup Bieber has is that he does wear male dog diapers because of house training, failures and he’s a little difficult when it’s time for a hair cut.
