Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.

I was part of a backyard breeding operation. Once I was rescued I was so happy to be out of a tiny cage. I wasn't taken care of very well. I have been neutered, and I've had the one tooth I had in my head pulled. My bloodwork looks good. Since I lived most of my life in a cage I need some work with my potty training. If you like a Shih Tzu I'm your typical one. Loving, and independent. My coloring is dark brown and white. I know the photo's aren't that flattering, but I'm a good looking fellow.

Bonded pair, must adopt togetherDD (7 y/o, 11 lb Yorkie) and Sammie (4 y/o, 9 lb Shih-Tzu) are a bonded pair of lap queens – they are looking to be adopted together! DD and Sammie found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live. DD is a 7-yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds.  Sammie is a 4yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds.  They are very attached to each other, and we will only place them together. They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you.  They are working on potty training and doing great but they do still have pee accidents in the house if they don’t have a chance to go out. They need a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 2 hours as they continue to be potty trained. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside. Continued house training will need to be a priority in their new home. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are yappy little dogs.  DD loves everyone she meets even if she barks at them at first.  Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time.  She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work.  She seems to bond with the woman in the family that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded with every time she sees them.  This requires patience.  DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away.  They are good with cats and other dogs. They romp and play with each other and have a blast. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them.  They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines.
