Story
Sammie and DD are a bonded pair. Sammie and DD found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live.   Sammie and DD are very different dogs but they're a bonded pair and must be adopted together.  Sammie is a 5yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds.  DD is a 9yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds. Sammie does not like men or children and DD loves everyone.  They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you.  They are not housebroken and they may never be. They poop outside but they do still have pee accidents in the house and they need to go outside frequently.  They will not go outside without a person being with them. DD especially needs a very consistent routine where she is taken out every 2 hours during the day. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside but sometimes they use the floor. They are not a good fir for anyone that works away from home or is gone for long periods of time. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are very yappy little dogs.  Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time.  She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work.  She will bond with a woman that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It will takes almost a year for her to stop barking at a man in the house all the time. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded to every time she sees them. This requires patience.  DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away.  They are both good with cats and other dogs but they don't interact with them. They romp and play with each other. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them.  They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines. Sammie is afraid of fast movements and she does not like children of any age, so a home with children is not a fit for her.   Contact: doggieharmonyatlanta@gmail.com (Amy)   We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Story
Introducing Freddie! He was brought to the shelter on 6/1 because he was on a journey to find his way home and got lost. Sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. So now is on a quick search for a forever home that will keep him safe and sound so he doesn't have to experience a loud, overcrowded shelter ever again. Freddie is only 3 years old and weighs a mere 19lbs. He is beautiful inside and out. The volunteers describe him as sweet, sweet, sweet, cute, and obedient. He is great on a leash and we feel he is being overlooked because he is in a back room and he is heart worm positive. He is so quiet in his kennel you would never know he was there. He is also a smart young man as he knows to sit when asked and may know more. Please take some time and visit with him in Run 204; his ID is 10535. He is waiting for you! Please help him find his way out of the shelter and into your heart, home and family. Please make sure you have the time, space, patience, and lifestyle to ensure Freddie has the best upbringing possible. Freddie is current on vaccines and neutered, but sadly has tested positive for heartworms. With treatment, however, dogs who test positive for heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives. Ask the shelter about the option of fostering to adopt. Please take some time and schedule to meet this awesome kiddo and get to know him a little better. Freddie is probably what you have been looking for all this time. He is patiently waiting for his forever family. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heart worm or combo test and a microchip.

Gnocchi is too precious! He was on an adventure when spotted and arrived to the shelter on 5/17. He has a micro-chip but sadly his family did not come for him. Gnocchi is 9 years young and weighs in at 15 pounds. He is such a sweetheart and too stinkin' cute. He knows to sit when asked. He is a perfect gentleman on the leash, He sure could use a spa day and a new best friend to cuddle with. Are you already in love with this little man? Ask for ID# 10083 Run 323. He is neutered and micro-chipped. He has tested negative for heart worm. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
