Story
Hello yawl, I am Susanna Mae. I am a 7-and-a-half-year-old Shih Tzu mix. I have been with  my foster Brian for about 7 months. When I first came to Street Paws I was very shy and unsure of what to think of my foster parents house. I seem to adapt pretty well and become very comfortable in my environment. I currently have 3 foster brothers and a sister. Even though I am tiny I can still handle my own with two dogs and a cat in the house. I have hypo thyroid and urinary crystals so I need lifelong medication and prescription CD dry dog food.  Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://form.jotform.com/232355976148163 The application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is $300 They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped. We will ensure the microchip is registered. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.April 17, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Reo is a loving, calm, and nice dog. I bought him while stationed in Japan. He was almost a year old at the time. He's now 13 and partially blind. He doesn't require too much of attention. He loves laying out in the sun. When he was younger, he used to fall asleep in the window(floor to ceiling) waiting for my daughter to come home from school. He loves back rubs. Honestly, overall a great pet. If my schedule wasn't as hectic as it is, I would keep him. Prefer to give him to a home that have the time he needs/deserves. Any questions are welcome. Thanks!!

Story
Bonded pair, must adopt togetherDD (7 y/o, 11 lb Yorkie) and Sammie (4 y/o, 9 lb Shih-Tzu) are a bonded pair of lap queens – they are looking to be adopted together! DD and Sammie found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live. DD is a 7-yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds.  Sammie is a 4yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds.  They are very attached to each other, and we will only place them together. They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you.  They are working on potty training and doing great but they do still have pee accidents in the house if they don’t have a chance to go out. They need a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 2 hours as they continue to be potty trained. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside. Continued house training will need to be a priority in their new home. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are yappy little dogs.  DD loves everyone she meets even if she barks at them at first.  Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time.  She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work.  She seems to bond with the woman in the family that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded with every time she sees them.  This requires patience.  DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away.  They are good with cats and other dogs. They romp and play with each other and have a blast. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them.  They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines. Sammie is afraid of fast movements so a home with children of any age is not ideal for her.   Training: Crate- and potty pad trained; working on potty outside Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative Contact: doggieharmonyatlanta@gmail.com (Amy) We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.April 17, 2024, 6:39 pm

Story
Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.

Story
Meet Lucy Lou! She is a 5 year old Lhasa Apso (maybe with something else mixed in) who is looking for a forever home. She weighs 19 pounds. She found her way to our county's animal control a few weeks ago and was never claim. Luckily, she was saved and has been in a foster home ever since. She does well with other dogs and we think that she would do well with older kids. She has not been around young kids with us yet. She is still working on housetraining and getting use to the cat. She thinks that chasing the cat is a lot of fun! Lucy Lou is currently taking cytopoint injections for allergies. If you are interested in adopting Lucy Lou, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-7461 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.
