Charlie came into us from a breeder. He is very sweet and mild mannered.  We had to remove one of his eyes due to extreme neglect.  The other eye has minimal to no vision.  Charlie is doing great with crate training and is great with people,  dogs and cats.  ##2045506##

Feb 2024: Summer is approx 4 and 20 lbs. She has to have a fenced yard with an active playmate. If she has both of those she is a fantastic fun loving pup. She is also mostly house trained if she has fence and playmate. Summer loves playing with the foster's Great Dane and Dachshund. She is crate trained. She is not fond of grooming, so you will need an experienced fear free groomer. Summer was found as stray with a male. She was completely matted. At approximately 2-3 years old and 15 lbs. she was obviously used for breeding and has no socialization. She is trying hard to trust. She has tons of personality but is still very tentative to touch. She does submissive pee if you pick her up. Foster is working on getting her to go into her crate, once she does, she is fine. She has very few accidents in the house if gotten out often enough. She is very playful but can be pushy (not a mean pushy) Does great with all sizes of dogs. In her foster home she plays with a Doxie and runs the backyard with a Great Dane. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. Templeton. Kinda makes you think of an English movie with some guy in a smoking jacket with leather patches on the elbows, standing in a library in front of a fire, doesn't it? But don't worry, I am not at all like that! When I was at the animal control, I guess they ran out of "normal dog names, and they gave me this one to try to make me feel better or special or something. I was found as a stray in a neighboring town and my hair was so long and so matted together, they would have to carry me around. I could hardly move and when I did, it hurt and pulled. After foster mom got me, it took her and the groomer 4 hours to get all the matts and tangles off me so that I could actually walk again. Boy, did that feel better! Over the next few days, I went to the vet and had some x-rays done and was found to have some degenerative disc disease in my upper back and the medications they gave me really helped a Lot! I feel like a new puppy!! I am an 8-year-old shih tzu mix and get along with everyone at my foster mom's house. Big dogs, little dogs, puppies, kitties or cats...they are all ok with me. I walk like a dream on a leash and am potty trained. I will bark to go outside here. And I sleep in my own little doggie bed at night. I will be happy in a house that has friendly pets and nice people but I am not sure how I am with small children so that is probably not the best for me. Older, dog-friendly children would be ok. But I have a couple of must haves. I feel good on my medicines so I would like to go to a house that will keep me on them. Cosequin, fish oil and meloxicam or whatever your vet will order for me to keep me pain free. AND I need to have regular grooming. I don't want to be a matted mess ever again!! If you can give me those two things, please apply to adopt me! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
