Summer Breeze...makes me feel fine...blowing through the jasmine in my miiiiinnnd My foster mumsie sings that to me because she says I remind her of that song ....I'm like a warm Summer Breeze coming to bring you out of your winter woes. I make friends with all the dogs big and small, I like cats,I love kids,and I am gentle, wiggle butt of happiness all the time. My foster mumsie says another big bonus is that I'm like a shihtzu for someone on a budget... I have the cute squishy face and none of that long hair that has to be continuously groomed. Win-win! Summer is a wonderful little Shihtzu mix of some such. She is approx a year old and 14lbs grown. She is extremely easy,happy,and affectionate. She gets along with all of my dogs and fosters ,my cats,and the neighbor kids love her. They are at my door daily to see if she can come out and play. Summer recalls like a dream and doesn't run off if not on leash,but she also has great leash skills now. She is kennel trained and sleeps overnight in her kennel. She loves toys and to play, starting to learn fetch with little smaller 's. She is very gentle and would be perfect for a family even with small children. She is still working on her potty training, but is learning fast. She is maybe medium energy. While she does love to play and bounce around she also can just sit on your lap while watching a movie. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Toby! Toby is estimated to be about 3 years old and a shih tzu/ terrier mix weighing about 15lbs.  Toby is very sweet and loves to cuddle. He is pretty calm and chill and wants to be around his people. He is potty trained and walks well on a leash.  He doesn’t like storms or really any loud noise and jumps into your lap for protection.  Does not do well in crate but doesn’t need to be crated at night or when you’re gone.  He is good with other dogs but does need a slow introduction as barking/ excited dogs are a bit overwhelming.  As most little dogs who have a bit of a rough start, he can be a bit nippy so we don’t recommend him in house with small children. He is okay with children visiting and will let you know when he needs space before reacting.  He’s learning to play and is getting more playful everyday but he’s also thrilled just to sit and chill near his people!  April 30, 2024, 12:05 am

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Trudy, Trudy, Trudy    This lovable twenty-five pound female answers to Trudy but her real name is Gertrude.  She is approximately seven years young and trying to enjoy her puppy hood again for the first time.  She apparently had a rough start to her life and is very appreciative of a safe and comfortable home.  Trudy is respectful of her surroundings and obedient to common commands.  Trudy is mostly house-trained and sleeps well in her own little 'room'.   This little girl loves to take walks and is just as eager to get back to her home.  She walks well on a leash usually a few steps in front with the minor distractions of interesting aromas as she strays from the path.  She seemed to experience the great outdoors for the first time or at least recently and she is a pleasure to watch as she learns her environment.  She is indifferent to cats but plays with other dogs well.Adoption Fee $200.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 27, 2024, 7:02 pm

Feb 2024: Summer is approx 4 and 20 lbs. She has to have a fenced yard with an active playmate. If she has both of those she is a fantastic fun loving pup. She is also mostly house trained if she has fence and playmate. Summer loves playing with the foster's Great Dane and Dachshund. She is crate trained. She is not fond of grooming, so you will need an experienced fear free groomer. Summer was found as stray with a male. She was completely matted. At approximately 2-3 years old and 15 lbs. she was obviously used for breeding and has no socialization. She is trying hard to trust. She has tons of personality but is still very tentative to touch. She does submissive pee if you pick her up. Foster is working on getting her to go into her crate, once she does, she is fine. She has very few accidents in the house if gotten out often enough. She is very playful but can be pushy (not a mean pushy) Does great with all sizes of dogs. In her foster home she plays with a Doxie and runs the backyard with a Great Dane. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. Hi, my name is Bishop, I am a 12yr (DOB 11/01/11) Shih Tzu. I'm on the fluffy side at 23lbs. My Mom just passed away recently and all of my aunts/uncles all have too many pets for me to live with them so they sent me to the best rescue ever. My Foster Mom is helping me to adjust to all the immediate changes in my life right now. I might nip you if I feel scared of you at first. I love to meet other dogs and people. The smells outside are so fun to explore. I love walking, the fact that my front feet curve outward a tad doesn't affect my gait in any way so, it's all good. Another dog (Pom) and a cat live here too. I chase the cat (I've never been around one before) every chance I get. I know a few commands but I will probably ignore you while I enjoy exploring. **Texas adoption only*** This is Joey, a senior dog with the heart and soul of a resilient soldier. For starters, Joey is a beautiful senior Lhasa Apso mix with a unique personality. He's a polite but guarded gentleman who looks like he's wearing a fancy gray suit! Joey is a very sensitive dog who'll need very sensitive, present, and patient people to take him on. For Joey's adoption process he will need several appointments and meetings to see if it is a good match. Joey enjoys long walks, perhaps one of his favorite activities, and will take you on a nicely paced walk through your neighborhood everyday if you get him on the leash! Joey is well trained knowing both how to behave and be comfortable in a crate and relieve himself outside. Joey also enjoys a good tug of war and was a mean puller during his old army days with the other boys in green. He's a child at heart and loves to play with toys! This fellow would prefer to be the only dog in the house but can be tolerant of other dogs. If other dogs are present Joey might feel a bit insecure and start marking. Please don't move too quickly towards Joey! He likes a very relaxed, low-energy environment and is not afraid to let you know when there's too much going on. Joey would prefer no children or at least older children that can respect him and not stick their hands in his face. In addition, Joey prefers people not be too grabby with him.
