Story
Meet Shihra Knightly! Shihra is a 7-year-old female Shih Tzu weighing about 20 pounds with a soft coat and an even softer heart. Rescued from a puppy mill, she’s adjusting to her new life and learning that people can be kind and safe.
Shihra is a people-loving girl who really enjoys attention and will happily let you know when she’s ready for snuggles. She has a bit of a chatty, expressive personality and likes to stay close to her humans, but can be slightly shy.
Shihra's been friendly with the dogs she’s met so far, including small and medium-sized pups, and has done just fine. We’re still working on training basics — she’s currently using pee pads and will need continued help with house and leash training as she settles in.
With patience, love, and a consistent routine, Shihra is sure to blossom into a devoted companion who just wants to be right by your side!
Shihra is being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, and her adoption fee is $450.
Shihra Knightly is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
