Story
Churro Sweetie walks through life like she's the main character in her own little movie and honestly? We fully support it. Between the gorgeous flowing hair, the adorable snaggle-toothed smile, and the way she prances around like she's listening to the happiest song ever written, this girl has a charm that's impossible to ignore. Watching Churro walk is honestly one of the cutest things about her. It's not quite a strut, not quite a trot, and not quite a prance. It's something uniquely Churro. Like she's happily marching through life to her own personal soundtrack and having the best day ever while doing it. Watch her video and prepare to immediately understand why everyone falls for her: https://youtu.be/okN2LFOfX0A?si=RaFvKJowX2sK938g Churro Sweetie is believed to be a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs around 18 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we CAN guarantee though is that this little lady has mastered the art of being effortlessly adorable. Churro has loved every person she has met so far. She is sweet, friendly, affectionate, and carries herself with this happy easygoing attitude that makes people feel comfortable around her immediately. She's the type of dog that seems genuinely pleased to meet new people and approaches life with a cheerful optimism that's hard not to love. Whether she's greeting someone new, hanging out on the couch, or simply following you around the house, Churro has a way of making everyday moments feel a little brighter. One of the first things you'll notice about Churro is just how pretty she is. Her long flowing hair gives her that classic little companion dog look, but then she flashes that adorable underbite and those tiny snaggle teeth and suddenly she goes from elegant princess to ridiculously cute little gremlin in the best possible way LOL. It's a combination that somehow makes her even more endearing. With other dogs, Churro has been wonderfully easygoing. She has interacted nicely with dogs both much smaller and much larger than herself and seems perfectly content simply coexisting with her canine friends. When introduced to a tiny 5 lb dog, she politely greeted him, gathered her information, and then continued on with her day. When meeting a large playful male dog, she exchanged greetings appropriately, hung out nearby, and remained her calm happy self. Outside, she naturally gravitated toward following the group of dogs around the yard and seemed to enjoy being part of the pack without feeling the need to be the center of attention. Churro is definitely more of a peaceful coexistence type of dog than a nonstop playmate. Because of that, we think she would do best with other calm, respectful dogs that enjoy companionship without needing a wrestling partner 24/7. Churro also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Churro is crate trained, potty trained, and overall seems like a very easy dog to live with. She has wonderful manners, a lovely temperament, and the kind of adaptable personality that fits seamlessly into everyday life. She doesn't need to be the star of the show. She's perfectly happy being included, hanging out with her people, and enjoying the simple things. Energy-wise, Churro falls comfortably into the medium-to-low energy category. She enjoys exploring the yard, taking walks, and spending time with her people, but she's not looking for an action-packed lifestyle. She strikes a really nice balance between enjoying activity and appreciating a good nap afterward. At the end of the day, Churro is the complete package. She's sweet, friendly, dog social, adorable, easygoing, and has enough personality packed into her little body to keep you smiling every single day. If you're looking for a happy companion with a heart of gold, a snaggle-toothed smile, and a walk that deserves its own soundtrack, Churro might just be your girl. We are willing to test Churro Sweetie with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Cinnamon and her 2 sisters are proof that little dogs can be incredibly tough. Their mom, who appears to be a full Shih Tzu, was forced to live outside and gave birth to them during the winter. Somehow, despite the cold and harsh conditions, these little girls survived. And now? They are thriving. These puppies are happy, playful, vocal, spunky little babies who absolutely love attention and interaction. They bounce around together constantly, playing, exploring, and demanding to be included in whatever is happening around them. There are 3 girls available: • Light brown and white • White and chocolate • White and red Dad appears to have been a Shih Tzu mix of some kind, but all 3 girls are expected to stay small. Because of their tiny size and young age, they will not be spayed prior to adoption. Adopters will be required to provide proof of spay in 2027 once they are fully grown and medically ready. Good fit: someone looking for a happy, social little companion puppy who wants affection, playtime, and an indoor family life. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Age-appropriate vetting, vaccinated, microchipped Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ Think you might be a good fit? Story
What my friends at OHS say about me:I'm a petite lady but pack a ton of personality into this small package! All this change in my life has been really tough on me, I can't help but be cautious and worried. I'm longing for an understanding person, with a warm bed, treats and the willingness to give me time and space to settle in- could that be you?Are you an introvert? Me too! Hanging out at home and in the company of my few favorite people will be ideal for me, as novelty can be worrisome.Despite my small, portable size, I am often sensitive to being fussed over and held.I have lived with other dogs in my last home.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.I have chronic skin issues which will require long term management. It can be caused by different factors such as fleas, food or environmental factors.I have been diagnosed with dental disease which means I may need dental cleanings or extractions in the future.I have been diagnosed with chronic dry eye (KCS), which will require long-term medical management. The type of home I'm looking for:I need to go to an adult only home.I am not for the first time dog owner. Someone very familiar with canine body language is a must for me.It could be with you! Click here to learn about the adoption process.
