He enjoys running, playing chase, and hanging out with canine friends of all sizes. He has wonderful social skills, shares toys nicely, and even patiently waits his turn for treats. Cookie Monster has also shown how sweet he can be with feline friends. During his cat introduction, he calmly said hello, explored the room, and later came back to give the kitty a little face lick! He’s already showing off some great puppy skills, including walking nicely on leash, responding well to guidance, and happily going into his kennel. With his outgoing nature, he could make an awesome adventure buddy for walks, dog-friendly patios, brewery trips, and plenty of outings with his future family. Princess & Precious are an adorable pair of mother/daughter tiny Shih Tzu mixes. Precious the Mom is 10 and scruffy, and Princess the daughter is 9 and smooth-coated. They both have brown heart-shaped patches of fur on their sides. Both are quite friendly, snuggly and cuddly, and make excellent alarm clocks/burglar alarms. Both love to eat anything you give them. Both are friendly to other dogs, and people of all ages. No idea about their opinion of cats. They both sleep on my bed, either under the covers or wrapped up in a blanket on top. Both are potty trained. They came from an older person home that was moving to an assisted living facility and not able to take the dogs. Vet care was sadly lacking at their former home, and both dogs had to have several teeth removed. Princess (the smooth-coated daughter) has a dry left eye and will need drops for that for life. These are delightful cuties who want nothing more than to love and be loved forevermore. And of course well-fed. They are fully vetted, microchipped, spayed and dental done. Their adoption fee is $420 total for both dogs. Hi! I am Gus, an independent-minded, 2½ - 3 year old, 15lb. neutered male Shih Tzu mix (I think). I am a handsome (and very cute) gentleman that looks my best with occasional grooming. I will thrive in a home to keep me safe from escapes, with lots of physical activity, combined with lots of loving. I am potty-trained with good household manners – if you don’t mind that I snooze a bit on your couch or comfy chair with a soft blanket. Love of novelty and adventure and an energetic style is my thing, thus I prefer to be with a caretaker that can offer me activities and diverse experiences. I balance my sense of adventure, that is, frequent outdoor walks and lots of active play combined with belly rubs, short times in your lap and relaxation. My favorite games are catch-me-if-you can and hide-and-seek. I will chase a ball a few times, enjoying mouthing it once I capture it. I also might mouth your hand, but gently. Chasing squirrels, bugs or bicycles is something I would really enjoy, but not always allowed. When excited I bark if we play a really fun game, or I see another dog. Other dogs excite me but I do not growl. Otherwise I am a rather quiet kind of guy. No guard dog here. Cats are a curiosity to me – I explore them with my nose but show minimal interest. Watching out the window or patio doors for moving life outside is a good pastime. I like to ride in the car and look out the window if I have vantage point to be able to do so given my small size. My house manners are rather good. Though I don’t ask to go outside to do my business, I will do it when you bring me outside or on a walk. I enjoy my large crate to relax or sleep – again with a blanket and I prefer this to a doggie bed. I sleep all night without disturbing you. It is mesmerizing to watch someone cook in the kitchen. Watching from a distance I clean up the floor when the cook is finished. Speaking of floors, I prefer carpet. I like to roll around to leave my scent and get a good itch. Keep in mind that I am an independent pup. Commands are a suggestion, not a mandate. I may or may not come when you call, sit, or get down from the furniture is you ask. A treat offers some incentive. As a dog I love to explore and I am not happy being indoors all of the time nor taking the same walking route every time. Because of my craving for adventure, I have become an expert escape artist. This may be why I am now a dog looking for a new home. An open door for even a brief second for someone to exit is my ticket to sneakily slide by before noticed. Any crack in a fence or gate is my ticket to the outside world and I am gone exploring. Again, I would thrive in a home to keep me safe from escape, with lots of activity, combined with lots of loving. I am the sweetest dog ever! So I need a secure Fenced Yard so NO Apartments.
