Story
Meet Benji Bear — estimated 1 year old, 15.5 pounds, part Shih Tzu, part Havanese, part… gremlin? Honestly, we’re still running the DNA test for “chaotic little man with main-character energy.” Benji is special — and he knows it. He likes what Benji likes… until he doesn’t. His moods shift faster than the wind and he makes no apologies. Looking for a cuddle bug? Yeah, that’s not Benji. Looking for a tiny coworker who will sit next to you, accept respectful head pats, and roll his eyes dramatically while you rant about Carol from accounting? That’s your guy. Benji loads up in the car all by himself and rides like a champ, is great on leash, and absolutely loves to strut his stuff on walks — tiny body, big confidence. We’re pretty sure that once Benji realizes he’s safe and doesn’t have to act like a tough dude, his softer side might peek out. Probably. Maybe. No promises. Benji’s ideal home? -Adults only, or teens who can respect his “don’t kill my vibe” vibe -A family stocked with patience and cheese -A single-dog home, where Benji gets to be the main character, the supporting cast, and the entire emotional storyline — because his feelings (like a teenager’s) are big, dramatic, and subject to change without notice -Benji is cool with cats, not surprising really given how cats can be -Seems to prefer men If you’re ready for a quirky, hilarious, independent little fellow who marches to the beat of his own tiny drum, Benji Bear is taking applications. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/690913d68e9aa22a2d0a57c5 If you have any questions or interested in Benji, email his coordinator at Kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
We believe Bentley is a Shih Tzu mix, weighing around 13 pounds. He’s an easy size to travel with and include in daily life. He may be little, but he’s packed with lots personality and charm. As with any rescue, breed is always our best guess, but his wonderfully portable size is one thing we know for sure. Bentley is a small, sweet pup. He’s the kind of dog who thrives in a calm, understanding environment where he’s given the space to beat to his own drum! Once he trusts you, he’ll come in close for cuddles, let you scoop him up, and even show off his super‑cute zoomies! He’s not the kind of pup who’s ready for chaos, but he is ready for love from someone who understands what it means to earn a dog’s trust. His perfect match? A patient, experienced home with someone who understands small dogs and is willing to give him the time, grace, and consistency he needs. He doesn’t need much: just a safe space, a gentle touch, and a kind heart willing to walk slowly with him toward a brighter future. While Bently's energy level is more homebody chic than marathon runner, he is great on the leash and enjoys a good walk. Having a doggie sibling would be wonderful for him, but he could also thrive as a solo dog soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Bentley has also met a cat and is currently considered cat tolerant. Because of his interest level, a kitty sleepover would be the best way to get a fully defined answer. If you believe that the best relationships are built on trust, Bentley might just be your little soulmate. Fall in love with Bentley here: https://youtu.be/RxXaQj6cA8Q Bentley would be a wonderful companion for a singleton or older adult looking for a loyal, affectionate friend. He would love life in a house or an apartment, provided that tons of treats and lots of snuggles are involved! Adopt this spirited boy today—he’s ready to find her forever home! Currently in foster care and waiting for his perfect match. Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/697fed9ff5202b9b8405ae3b Any questions? Story
Looking for a tiny best friend with a big heart and even bigger cuddle goals? Meet your new favorite little shadow, ready to follow you anywhere (yes, even to the mailbox). This pretty girl is a pint sized bundle of sweetness! She’s the kind of companion who believes personal space is optional and honestly, kind of overrated. Just when you think she can’t get any cuter… her little snaggle tooth pops out to say hello like it’s her signature smile. Trust us you’re going to want to watch her adoption video… this little lady knows how to steal hearts without even trying. https://youtu.be/nN11vZht3oE We believe Annabelle is a Shih Tzu mix, weighing in at a perfectly petite 11 pounds. Small enough to scoop up and carry along, she’s the perfect little companion for cozy moments, couch cuddles, and everyday adventures at your side. As with any rescue, her exact mix is a bit of a mystery but we think that just adds to her charm. She is currently blossoming in a loving foster home, where she’s spent her days soaking up all the snuggles and warmth she deserves. This sweet girl is a total people person who wears her heart on her sleeve. She leans right in for pets and isn’t shy about showing just how much she loves her humans. Annabelle strolls beautifully on a leash, making every morning walk a peaceful, tail wagging breeze. She’s settled right into the rhythm of home life and is doing a wonderful job learning the ropes of her daily routine. She’s a gentle, easy going soul who just wants to be your best friend. Whether it's a quiet afternoon on the couch or a sunny walk around the block, she’s ready to fill your life with a whole lot of love. When it comes to her fellow furry friends, she is a bit of an independent spirit who values her personal bubble. She’s perfectly content doing her own thing and doesn’t feel the need to be the center of a dog pile. Annabelle can share her space gracefully with respectful, easygoing dogs who understand her relaxed vibe. While she’s open to a sibling, she would be just as thrilled if not more so to be your one and only, soaking up every single ounce of your affection all for herself! Her thoughts on cats are still a bit of a mystery! We believe she is willing to share her kingdom with a kitty, but she will have a kitty sleepover as a trial run to ensure they can officially become the bestest of buds! This sweet girl would thrive in a home where she can be close to her people and enjoy a calm, loving environment. Thanks to her nice leash manners and easygoing nature, she could do wonderfully in an apartment setting. Her biggest requirement? A human (or two!) who appreciates a loyal little sidekick who just wants to love and be loved. If you’re searching for a soft, snuggly, heart melting companion who will happily be your shadow and your biggest fan, this petite princess is ready to fill that role perfectly. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ae4b93b49ae762b70e26b7 Questions?
