Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!Updated: 2/4/2026 Dog Name: Rex Sex: Male Estimated Breed: Shih Tzu/Schnauzer Mix Approximate Age: 15 years Approximate Weight: 9 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Neutered Description: Rex has made his way to WI and he has so much love to give! In his foster home he’s been spending his days snuggling and taking naps! This sweet boy is 99% housebroken and will let you know when he has to go outside, great on a leash, and crate trained! He is a quiet boy who rarely ever barks. He independently walks into his create when he wants some peace and quiet, but he would prefer snuggling with you. Rex does well with kids, cats, and other dogs of all sizes. He just loves to be near his people and will follow you around. He is the sweetest most gentle boy who would be a good match for a relaxed and calm household. Sweet Rex is a senior gentleman who has clearly lived a full life and deserves nothing but comfort and love in his golden years. He has cataracts that don’t slow him down much, along with some age related dental needs and arthritis in his hips. Rex also has lumbar disc disease, which simply means he can be a bit stiff at times, which is something his daily pain medication helps manage very well. He does have elevated liver enzymes, which his vet is monitoring, but overall Rex is stable and comfortable. With his medication and a cozy place to rest, he does quite well and enjoys the simple pleasures of senior life: soft beds, gentle strolls, and lots of affection. Rex is looking for a calm, understanding home where he can continue to age gracefully, be spoiled, and be loved for the sweet soul he is. If you are looking for a loving dog to spend peaceful days with apply to meet Rex! Adoption Fee: $250We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433 ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. February 5, 2026, 1:57 am
