Story
🐾 Scotty — The Sweetest Dog You’ll Ever Chase Around the House 🐾(Shih Tzu • cuddle expert • part-time escape artist)Allow me to introduce Scotty, the 10-month-old Shih Tzu mix who has mastered three things in life:1️⃣ Being adorable2️⃣ Being sweet3️⃣ Climbing over fences like a fluffy, determined ninjaThis boy is tiny, gentle, and SO affectionate. Scotty loves belly rubs, chin scratches, ear stretches, and any form of physical touch that reminds him he is, in fact, the center of someone’s universe. If you sit down, he appears. If you recline, he melts into your side. If you stop petting him, he looks at you like you’ve betrayed him personally. He’s housebroken (yay!), kid-friendly, dog-friendly, crate trained, and polite — even if he hasn’t learned “sit,” “stay,” or “come” yet. But listen…he did learn how to scale child-proof fencing like it’s his full-time job, so the potential is definitely there.Scotty prefers exploring a fenced yard to a structured walk, enjoys attention, and thinks baby gates are more “suggestions” than “barriers.” He’s incredibly sweet, kind, and gentle — not a hint of aggression, just cuddles, curiosity, and comedy. He and Patty arrived together, and while he loves her, he doesn’t depend on her — he just loves love, routine, warmth, and being near people who think he’s cute (which is… everyone).Soft. Sweet. Snuggly. Mildly sneaky.Scotty is everything wonderful wrapped into one 10-pound fluffball.⸻📌 ADOPTION DETAILS:📍 Location: Lake County, IL🧡 Age: 10 months✨ Size: Small (~10 lbs)🐾 Breed Guess: Shih Tzu🚽 Housebroken: Yes🐶 Dog Friendly: Yes🐱 Cat Friendly: Unknown🧒 Kid Friendly: Yes🦮 Leash Trained: Yes; prefers fenced-yard adventures🛏 Crate Trained: Yes❤️ Vetting: Neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines💵 Adoption Fee: $500👉 Apply to adopt Scotty: www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
👑 Patty — The 11-Pound Boss Lady of Lake County 👑(Part Shih Tzu, part sass, part professional belly-rub collector)If you’ve ever dreamed of living with a tiny queen, congratulations — your monarch has arrived.Meet Patty, a 1.5-year-old Shih Tzu who is only 11 pounds but carries herself like she owns the deed to your house, your heart, and probably the remote.Patty is what we lovingly call a “bossy pants.”She’s not mean — she just knows what she brings to the table, and frankly, it’s a lot.She would adore being your one-and-only, your spotlight hogger, your personal couch warmer. But she’s currently attached to another foster dog and may decide he is her emotional support minion forever. Her hobbies include:✨ Demanding belly rubs like it’s a full-time job✨ Giving infinite kisses whether you signed up for them or not✨ Laying directly on top of you while you try to watch TV✨ Running around in the snow like a tiny, fluffy tornado✨ Strutting around the yard pretending she’s on a reality show✨ Being brushed daily — her words, not ours: “I simply must stay gorgeous.”Housebreaking? A work in progress.Leash training? She says she can, but prefers a fenced yard so she can free-range like the majestic creature she is.Crate trained? Yes — though she thinks royal quarters should be larger.Manners? Also a work in progress…But she is, in fact, a lady.A lady who expects you to teach her sit, stay, come, and perhaps the fine art of being worshipped.Patty is affectionate, loving, hilarious, and extremely people-oriented.If you want your days filled with snuggles, sass, kisses, and a tiny dog who believes she is both your shadow and your supervisor —Patty is ready for her throne.⸻📌 ADOPTION DETAILS:📍 Location: Lake County, IL🧡 Age: ~1.5 years✨ Size: Small (about 11 lbs)🐾 Breed Guess: Shih Tzu🚽 Housebreaking: Work in progress🐶 Dog Friendly: Yes (but wants to be queen)🐱 Cat Friendly: Not listed🧒 Kid Friendly: Yes🦮 Leash Trained: Yes, but prefers fenced yard zoomies🛏 Crate Trained: Yes❤️ Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, UTD on vaccines💵 Adoption Fee: $450👉 Apply to adopt Patty: www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

About Me: Name: Various Breed (or best guess): Shih Tzu- Yorkie mix Date of Birth: 6/11/25 Gender: M Approximate Weight: on 11/12   9 lb Adoption Fee: $650 Requirements: Loving families Why In Rescue: Breeder surrenders Profile:   We received a number of puppies from a commercial breeder/puppy farmer who was not able to sell them to a broker or pet store.  They are happy friendly puppies who just need a family to grow and learn with.  When you apply and are approved, you will be able to come see the pups that are still available for adoption so you can pick one that has the personality you are hoping for.  They are all adorable and should be low or no shed mixes.  They haven't lived in a home yet, so a home will be new to them, but they should learn quickly!  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS December 3, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Meet Our Shih Tzu Six-Pack! These six tiny Shih Tzu puppies were born right in our rescue after we saved their sweet pregnant momma. Thanks to a safe place, good care, and lots of love, all six babies have grown into healthy, social, snuggly little pups who are now ready to find their forever families! Their momma will be spayed soon and available for adoption as wellshe deserves a loving home just as much as her babies. Each puppy has their own personality, but they all share the same Shih Tzu charm: playful zoomies, gentle cuddles, and those irresistible little faces. Theyre being well-socialized in foster care and learning all the basics that come with puppyhood. As young pups, they will need families committed to training, structure, patience, and plenty of love. Adoption Area: We only adopt to families living in Illinois, Wisconsin, or states that directly border either IL or WI. Renters: If you rent, your landlord must contact us directly to confirm that dogs are allowed in your home. Adoption Fee: $800. This includes their microchip, current vaccines and boosters, deworming, and spay/neuter at our rescue vet. Using Your Own Vet: If you choose to do the spay/neuter with your own vet, we will reimburse $100 once you provide proof of completion. This must be done before 6 months of age, and adopters will sign a contract agreeing to this requirement. Rescue License: DACPT #506053 Please visit our website www.thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.
